Shotguns and their ammo

I took a shotgun from my safe with 16 ammo. The ammo that wasnt in the current magazine disappeared leaving me with 6. I then took 10 more ammo to try it again and it did the same again and i lost all the ammo that isnt in the shotgun itself

Can you confirm that this is a safe in a house, or a safe in a gang territory? - For reproducibility purposes.

It was the gang safe. My issue was more when the ammo was in my inventory it disappears after a shot
