I was robbing this person in kavala, the police turnt up and tazed me, my friend eliminated the police threat and the person i was robbing ran into a green zone as i was shooting at him.

As soon as he enter the green zone, do i have to stop shooting him?

Yes. And remember this is arma - bullets ricochet and penetrate - so be careful when firing in the direction of the green zone as you may unintentionally kill someone else in there and if you're not recording you'll probably end up with a ban

I always record!

Yeah,  A rule about when your in fire fights would be nice since it's not really realistic, not to say you should kill anyone who walks out of the green zone.

Yeah, maybe wilco or someone will read this and maybe change it!

A good resolution would be to keep the rule of NEVER kill in a green zone, but anyone who is in combat who runs into the green zone for some magical protection should be reported and banned/warned.

Is it possible to get an actual admins view on this please as I have been told by an admin in person that if someone runs into a green zone whilst in combat it is not a green zone for said person as he is already engaged in combat.

I was told this after a police officer ran into a green zone (the casino) after being shot at in central Kavala (not green zone) and die in the casino.

If i remember correctly u are not allowed to engage someone inside a greenzone, but if rp been initiated outside a greenzone and firefight is going on, then someone takes cover inside a greenzone he is not safe from being killed.

Especially if he would have a gun shooting back at u from greenzone.

I cant be 100% of this tho, we did get told at that time that always try avoid stuff like firefights inside greenzones even rp started outside the greenzone

I personally feel if you are in RP, it should be bannable to exploit thr green zones. Its too easy. That way thete will be no killing in the zones. And people will proactively avoid green zones during rp.

just imo.

Yeah this is why we need the official standing, @Wilco please can you give clarification?

This is a little out of date, but back in September Wilco posted this:

Hi GOA,

When you are on VIP Island you cannot shoot there nor can you shoot from there, This also means people cannot from the main land over to the island.

What people were doing was when they was wanted and being chased by the police they was rushing over to VIP island, thats what i mean by its no safe haven, if your wanted then the police will enter the island.

No doubt if the person on the main island shot your friend then your friend would be on here reporting.

VIP Island is a greenzone, no shooting on the inside, no shooting from the inside to the outside and no shooting from the outside to the inside.

Hope that clears it up.
From what Is said there, I'd say that people running into a greenzone (or VIP area in this case) can't instantly turn around, blow a raspberry and sing "you can't catch me, nuh nuh-n-nuh-nur"

I'd act with caution in these circumstances.... if it starts outside the area, and the person retreats into it (knowingly or unknowingly) try roleplay.. the fact they've retreated shows you have an advantage, tell them to throw their weapon down and come out unarmed....

This opens up a whole new element of roleplaying with them....

what will you do?

 - rob them, take their stuff and send them on their way?

 - kidnap them?

 - kidnap them and leave them in the desert?

 - kidnap them, leave them restrained by a HQ and send in a police message?

Guns are the easy way out, its the cheap way out.. people are now not wanting to talk, and just shoot first, and maybe a question later, they play their game in pounds-per-minute instead of being a character in the novel that is Altis Life.... (this also applys to police too).

There's always another option.

If they head into the greenzone, and continue to shoot out, I'd say it's safe to shoot back, but why not be a (wo)man, and value the lives of others.

I'm sure @Wilco will set the rules on this soon.

I was shot at from inside the green zone by some mute troll and was told explicitly by an admin that I can't shoot back. The green zone is a green zone. No matter what. I've also seen guys get banned for this exact reason, being shot in the green zone and firing back. So id love a completely official statement on this, not a rule from however many months ago. Many people will hide in the green zone for as long as it takes for you to give up. No different to the casino green zone is the drug bank now, when getting chased through Kavala by drug robbing gangs they park their HEMMT up at the casino and stroll up to the cash point knowing they can't be touched. It's ridiculously fail rp and we need some clear guidelines about it.
