Robbing people

Ok, so me and a friend decided to hold up a hemmit box just outside the chop shop along the dirt road.

The guy seen us and decided to turn around even though I said stop the vehicle  and get out, he prob didn't hear us, let's say for arguements sake he didn't, I then proceeded to shoot at his wheels to disable  the vehicle.

At this point his friend gets out kills my buddy ( no rp just straight death) my friend told him to lay his weapon down, I take cover and a exchange of bullets pursues and I kill him.

Next thing he's in Chat saying nice shot but RDM.

My point being is if he isn't going to rp in the first place, why cry RDM.

Its becoming a daily thing where when you do something you have to record everything just to cover your own back as everyone seems to cry RDM this I'm reporting that.

I understand he was getting robbed but if he just complied and gave a little bit of quality roleplay who knows I might not of robbed and killed him.

GET ON TS NOW OR ILL GO TO THE FORUMS, more or less the same thing your saying here. It gets under my skin. The public arguments people try and wage in sidechat.

regardless of that, you posted this in the questions section but there isn't an actual question in your post its more of a statement.

Wow..

So you shot at his tires and you're surprised he got out and shot you? In the likely event that he spent the past hour mining or whatever it's hardly bad roleplay that he got out and tried to shoot you. He's protecting his goods.

Plus, you acknowledge that he probably couldn't hear you. If I was in that truck and thought that some guys were trying to RDM me of course i'm either gonna try and drive off or shoot back. You cant try and roleplay if you're getting shot at by potential RDM'ers.

Finally, the standard of 'quality roleplay' seems to be dropping a lot lately. Telling someone to 'get out the truck and put your hands up' isn't quality roleplay on your part and them putting their hands up isn't quality roleplay on their part either - it's the minimum standard. I don't know what you were planning to do with him but i'm guessing you wanted his stuff (which is fair enough) but if you're gonna go after people guns blazing expect people to come back at you guns blazing.

you have answered my question perfectly, I just wanted to clarify.

so what your saying is it's fine for me to just get out my truck and not say a single word just start shooting if I'm being robbed for my goods that's I've been mining for.

You say the quality of roleplay has dropped lately.

in that situation how would you of done it differently, to make it quality role play.

Let's get one thing straight we didn't try to RDM anyone he was told to get out  then we shot the tyre to get him out.

Preferably the defender would position the truck defensively and then, after they have warned them off start shooting back. It is a difficult situation to be honest, however your friend should have been prepared for a firefight if he was robbing someone. I would not wildly nilly get out of my truck with no cover and let someone rob me if I could defend myself to be honest.

If you don't know if someone heard you or not try and reinitiate when you next can. It saves your own Arse because they can't accuse you for RDM that way. If they do accuse you of RDM just ask them to teamspeak and explain your perspective and it should work out from there, if they refuse then just leave them to it.

@samatlewiss we did initiate again once the guy got out the truck, like i said in my original post this is what i mean about people who cry RDM as soon as you kill them, even tho you role played it, in some peoples eyes it may be seen as minimum of role play but to be honest how else could you of done it ?

Its starting to be abit of a chore having to record every single encounter you have with people in case they decide they want to report, I love the server and i love the community.

But the constant threats of being reported, get in team speak now is, too be honest starting to take its toll, it was fun at first but its starting to feel like a grind.

@CASHIN MY GIRO it's always been a hostile place in sidechat.

Personally I never record. I never flame in sidechat, I just ask politely. When I see people ask in rude ways I tell them to ask nicer and remind them that we are an ADULT community. This often either ends in insults coming my way, OR people start asking in nicer ways.

Just my way of going about rude bitches in sidechat.

Manners don't cost!

If someone fails to listen to your perspective/ acts rude just ask a mentor to mediate! It makes them listen and most of the time ends in an understanding:)

I'm curious as to how u rob people now... Enlighten us

Well, i'd usually start off with something along the lines of "put your hands up". Still though, when I rob people I am usually trying to get their stuff which I don't deny. Once their hands are up I will do my best to provide quality roleplay. I'll usually take their money and a portion of whatever is in their truck but if they're compliant i'll try and make it fun. Most of the time I won't even take their stuff and just roleplay with them.
I guess the best answer to your question is I don't really rob people. If you rob someone and all you do is get them to put their hands up, take their stuff and run it's not really quality roleplay it's the minimum standard.

On a different subject from what this thread is about, I would like to ask a question.

What happens if the mentor himself fails to listen to your perspective and acts rude about an in-game situation ? Not to start anything here just curious what people are supposed to do in that situation so I know in the future since I've been in one myself.

ALWAYS be polite yourself. Do NOT disrespect anyone, especially infront of a mentor. If you are not rude they shouldn't be rude, however if they then ask for a different mentor/ go to a different mentor and ask for their help and report, if you feel the need, the rude mentor to another mentor so they'll be spoken to (i said emntor so many fucking times)

Alright appreciate the reply.

I think he's saying it's fine to get out of your truck and shoot back if they shot first.  Telling someone to pull over and get out doesn't require them to do it right?  Running is a viable option correct?  You shoot his tires out, so yah I'd shoot back too if I could.  Only issue I see here is the guy called it RDM, which seems only justified if he didn't actually hear you and is calling it based on shooting first without RP (him not having heard it).

Seems to be a worrying trend developing where dudes with rifles literally camp the borders of the Safezone and try to  hold up anyone running to the garage or to the car vendor.

Was happening pretty much all day today, it's almost as bad as groups camping the handgun shops.

Doesnt make sense why someone would pay 500k for rebel training to buy rifles etc just to camp handguns store are vehicle shops.

then again this is altis and I suppose anything is possible lol but I can certainly relate to the handgun store , lost a life are three going there lol
