Report a player

Your In-game Name: Shady Steven

Name of the player(s) you are reporting: Anonymous Puffinbird

Which server did the incident take place on: Altis Life

Date of the incident: 10/21/20

Time of the incident (GMT): Approximately 6PM ish GMT.

What best describes this incident ?: RDM. Fail RP.

Please (in detail) describe the incident: A friend and myself had just landed at Rebel Outpost, upon purchasing our licenses we headed inside with a spare one hundred thousand pounds upon our person. Shortly after we arrived many of Ground Break had pursued us, though as to how many I am unsure. In the video I have provided from the time of their arrival, to my death all events were recorded.

Shortly after becoming fully geared, Anonymous Puffinbird approached me with a pistol, bear in mind, I was fully geared with my double barrel shotgun out and on hand, and proceeded to act hostile towards me and my friend. Now, given he was thoroughly out geared and took me alone to the front of the upper floor, I feel as though that is terrible quality roleplay as is. No one in their right mind would try to swindle a man who would otherwise mop the floor with them realistically.

After getting me alone upstairs, he proceeded to go through the motions of a typical PVP styled player. He attemped to get my hands up, despite my gun already being drawn. After I made it clear that I was not going to come quietly. He abused the door in combat as you see in the footage. As far as I am aware, doors are bullet proof, correct me if I am wrong.

Shortly before the combat initated, he boasted the numbers of his friends in the rebel outpost. Clearly they had not come for any sort of roleplay, they were simply looking for a fight and nothing more.

After I went down, I will admit I was a tad salty and responded in anger, in character. Which was poor roleplay of my own on my part. Be that as it may, Anonymous Puffinbird whole aura of his supposed roleplay was "Do what I want or we're going to kill you because we have more people than you."

It is my hope that situations like this can be prevented in the future, from both parties. The reason I feel the need to report this is due to the nature of the initiatior's involved. Recently one of their members had received a one day ban for what appears to be the same situation. Over aggression and poor roleplay. I would hate to see this behaviour spread throughout their entire faction and impact the server negatively.

Thank you for your time.

Oh side note, I did not attempt contact the person involved. I logged off after the incident and took some time to relax before writing this report.

Just a small update in-case anything is to get misconstrued. I had sent Anonymous Puffinbird a message notifying him of this report as follows.

"You have a report filed against you Anonymous Puffinbird. I do not wish to resolve it between the two of us however. The details of why are listed in the report. Just know I hold nothing against you personally, simply the style of gameplay you choose to act upon in the server. Please have a nice evening."

It is only fair that the accused should be notified of their reports against them so they may have chance to give their side of the story.

Anonymous Puffinbird Would you like to share your side of the story?

I had not realized that I could edit the topic until after I replied with the edit. But I shall also edit the main report too. @Jolly

I would also like to request a second admin to take a look at this report if at all possible Jolly. I mean no offense in this request, it is simply the fact that you were a part of this incident in-game. I feel it could potentially be unfair if you were the one to pass judgement on this report. Though of course, you're the staff member here and have full right to decline my request.

I don't see whats wrong my plan in that situation was to rob your gear and upgrade mine just because I had a pistol don't mean that I cant rob you I gave you a lot of time to comply and I didn't straight up say I'm gonna shoot you I started off with comply with my orders otherwise I will knock you out but you didn't seem to want to comply so I resorted to me and my friends will use force against you if you don't put your gun away and you came right at me into the room so I shot you using the force I warned you about. Doors are not bullet proof and me hiding behind the gap in the door is not exploiting. The reason I ''boasted the numbers of his friends in the rebel outpost'' is because that's the rules if you want your friends/gang to assist you in a situation if needed which I thought it was since you started to tell your friend to come up to you.

I don't see why you didn't want to try resolve the situation with me in team speak that's the point of team speak if you can't resolve the issue you go to a report.

I think I done everything correct in this situation and I don't see a reason for this not being resolved in team speak.

@Oh Dae su We are talking about a different person named "TheBetterJolly". The Staff member Jolly was not involved in this incident at all 🙂

I did not wish to speak with you in team speak for several reasons.

  1. I know that your faction is more than wealthy enough to not need to resort to "hands up or die"-styled roleplay. Near every time I go to the airport. I see Ground Break taking off in Hurons. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with being cost efficient, but the reputation of Ground Break in-game speaks for itself. Wealthy, populated and powerful members. Don't let that go to your head though.
  2. You have several previous bans on your account. This is going to sound rude but I do not mean it to be what so ever. Objectively, someone with as many previous incidents as you, is not worth wasting my time on. Again, I am not splitting hairs and I do not mean to insult or offend. But you were unbanned only yesterday and you already have a report out against you. This alone should speak for your actions in-game.
  3. If we were to resolve things in teamspeak, what would it accomplish? Me getting 100k back? That is nothing compared to discouraging players to stick around in this server due to poor roleplay and aggressive imbalance of power among the players. In this scenario for example, there were three of your members if I am not mistaken at the rebel outpost. However, after disconnecting. I witness there was fifteen of you online in a gang. Some of which also have previous bans on their account for the same over aggresive combative actions you had taken. Seeming to want to fight rather than interract with others and create engaging roleplay that both sides can enjoy.

Once again speaking objectively and not meaning to be rude in any way shape or form. It is this kind of behaviour that can cause a decline in the quality of a server. Be it roleplay quality or member count. Me getting my gear back, you not learning from your several previous bans. It would solve nothing what so ever.

That is all I have to say on the subject unless asked further questions via a moderator. Anonymous Puffinbird
Thank you for that clarification @Samantha In which case I withdraw and apologize for the original request of having a second admin overlook this case. A simple misunderstanding that there was another player named Jolly there. @Jolly

With that being clarified, I will be handling this report from here on, once I have reviewed all the evidence.

Just because I have a long ban history does not mean I am not worthy of your time makes no sense.

I did not break any rules in this situation just because I was aggressive when robbing you what else do you expect when getting robbed I aint going to baby you through the process.

I gave you a lot more chances to comply with me than a lot of people on the server will.

Here it goes... After looking over everything that was provided, I can not see any valid reason to action a form of punishment on this report. The situation was hostile and escalated rather quickly, but in hindsight, there was enough prior communication and a valid form of initiation before the first shots were fired.

You, @Oh Dae su, were given multiple chances to comply beforehand. When the first threats were made, the situation had already turned into a hostile one and rather than attempting to de-escalate by complying/compromising, you acknowlegded the threat of violence and decided to fight fire with fire.

Also, in regards to your comment aboutAnonymous Puffinbird ban history, I find it rather petty to be honest with you.

It does not matter whether or not someone has previous bans on their record. The first step to resolving a situation is meant to be between the players. If there is an opportunity to resolve a problem like this next time, please go the proper way and attempt to do so.

Just a general heads up for future reference, information that is relevant in the course of RP and is said over any other means of communication than in-game VoIP, must also be "hot-miced" in-game - See Rule 2.5.

Anonymous Puffinbird

In this particular scenario, I can not see any rule breaks from your side. However, to avoid situations like this in the future, putting in a little more effort when it comes to roleplay would most likely benefit both parties.

With all that being said, this report will be denied.
