What best describes this incident ?: Combat Logging / Exploiting
Please (in detail) describe the incident: I was buying a BMW 135i off the phone number 465-1752 (session ID 528) for £200,000. I met him at City Hall and he came from a police car, he had to get his BMW so I let him borrow my car. After he retrieved it, we agreed on a price, he stored the car in the City Hall Car Park and we went inside. He seemed genuine and nice to talk to. The time was now about 19:10. I explained how the car transferring process works (I give him the money, he transfers the license etc), and he had to get his plate. He tried running to get the registration number but I stopped him and said “You can find it on the CarFinderz” app.
I believe this was the point where he would run off with his friend (ID 374) and steal my money, but it didn’t work as I stopped him. He then went onto his phone and started talking to someone/himself/Discord I’m
not sure. After about a minute of me explaining how to copy the plate number, he said “ohhh fuck” whilst laughing and logged with no explanation.
Technical difficulties can happen, I get that, so I waited at the same spot for 15 minutes. I caught his friend and used /sessionheads to get his ID just in case. The time is now 19:26. After waiting for 15 minutes he finally appeared, and he seemed shocked I was still there. I jokingly said “Ohh did your head pop?”, but no response. I waited a second, and he instantly tried running for the exit where his friend was standing. I ran after him but he kept trying to avoid me. He then pulled his phone out and said “Yo where are you?” whilst I was saying “Hello?”, “Can you hear me?”. He would simply run past me or ignore me. I used /sessionheads again to get his new ID of 528.
I understand scamming is allowed, and I completely get it. But surely logging for the purpose to evade a confrontation is against the rules somehow? He clearly just logged for long enough, hoping I’d get bored and walk off. His friend would constantly run past checking if I was there, so they were most likely talking over Discord. The minute I ran off he then appeared. If they simply ran off with my money, fine I’ll take the L. But this really doesn’t seem rule-abiding. I’m not sure what rule it is under, but most likely combat logging/exploiting/rage quitting? I could be wrong though.
