Your Character Name: Darren Ocean
Reported Players: 427 (I think), cutlass members
Date: Jan 21, 2025
Time: 21:30
What best describes this incident: G1.2 (RDM)
Please (in detail) describe the incident: Context: Hustlers and cutlass have been having an ongoing beef for the last week or two surrounding robbing of each other and this has evolved into melee fights, gun fights, and more recently, large scale conflict between groups.

I had left my apartment and got into a local car, which I was using while out of colours to remain unrecognizable as a Hustler.

In this car, I drove from my apartment, up past AE and towards cutlass turf to scout if there were any members around to know if we should prepare for a conflict. While driving around their turf, I was checking rooves and back alleys to see who, if anyone, was there.

I spotted a black local sultan parked suspiciously on the bridge above the arcade, containing a man wearing unidentifiable clothing. I attempted to G check him to establish whether he was a member of cutlass. This individual did not respond at all despite me shouting my questions and increasing the intensity with each repetition.

To indicate that I would not take silence for an answer, I drew my pistol and aimed at the man while shouting at him to identify himself. I still heard nothing from the individual. In efforts to make sure he could hear me, I stepped out of my car and approached his car, so he could clearly see my weapon and hear my questions.

At this point, I was shot by multiple cutlass members posted up on a nearby roof. The man in the sultan did not use his phone or radio to indicate that he was under threat, so I also question how he contacted his members to co-ordinate an attack.

I was then thrown in a boot and dodgied, robbed, and after some IC back and forth I was executed and left to die in a bush.

I spoke to some cutlass members in liaison, and they were adamant what they had done was not a rulebreak because I had threatened their member. I could not get the point across that in order for them to partake in the violence of the situation, they would first have had to at least speak to me before shooting.

Hello @OneShot

They were actively looking for Cutlass throughout the day as they had previously drilled the arcade and as you can see in the clip they were scouting Cutlass turf looking for members of our gang. He decided to approach one of our members while we were watching from the roof and he himself escalated the situation by pulling his gun out and aiming at one of our people. Recognizing this was hustlers from the black champion that is present on the bridge and the aggressive action show from himself he was shot in response. I don't see how this is random as he was the one who pulled the gun which resulted in him being shot. At 3:29 you can hear him say 'some pussyclart tactic' which shows that he acknowledges that this was an ambush but he rushed into it. You know by pulling up to the rival gangs turf and pulling a gun on someone is an aggressive and risky action to take and unfortunately didn't play out in your favour.

'At this point, I was shot by multiple cutlass members posted up on a nearby roof. The man in the sultan did not use his phone or radio to indicate that he was under threat, so I also question how he contacted his members to co-ordinate an attack.'

We were watching from the nearby roof and had a clear view of your gun pointing at one of our members, radioing was not necessary.

I'd logged in at my apartment at the start of the video. Browsed tweedle for a couple of minutes, and then decided to go out, not in colours, to scout for Cutlass members.

Recognizing somebody you have "beef" with (or their car, that could've been driven by anybody) does not give you free license to kill them without roleplay.

You were shot because you put a gun to one of our members. It was your decision to take the roleplay in that direction.

and you chose to shoot without you, or your member saying a word.

I'll not be commenting further unless asked by staff.

Hello @Thud & @Tazz

Thank you for submitting your report and providing detailed context regarding the situation. After reviewing the incident, including the context provided and the server rules, we have decided to deny this report. Below is our reasoning:

We understand your concern regarding the lack of verbal interaction from the Cutlass members. However, we must also consider the context of the situation. By entering rival gang turf, attempting to "G-check" a suspicious person, and escalating the situation by drawing your weapon, your actions posed a direct threat to the Cutlass members. Realistically, anyone who pulls up on a gang’s turf and acts in a similar manner should expect a similar response.

Just to clarify, by denying this report, we are not encouraging players to go to rival gang turf with the intent of initiating shootouts. This could fall under G1.3 (Baiting), such as entering rival gang areas with the sole purpose of starting a firefight.

It is also worth noting that the Cutlass members could have provided more roleplay, such as issuing verbal warnings before shooting. However, given the situation and your actions, it is not surprising that they chose to respond defensively on their turf.

Additionally, the manner in which you approached the Cutlass member with aggressive questioning and escalating the situation by drawing your weapon gave the impression that you were not there to have a meaningful conversation but rather to provoke some sort of conflict.

In this particular situation, your actions of entering Cutlass turf and attempting to "G-check" someone could be interpreted as provoking a response. We advise players to avoid unnecessary escalation that could be seen as baiting, as it will be dealt with under G1.3.

No Action Taken
