Please (in detail) describe the incident: I was responding to an incident with 2 males with knives, part of a group of 3/4, who had fled from police. After the chase had gone on for quite some time, they climbed on top of a bridge (approx 100m+ above water from my estimation). TFC made the call that he would climb the adjacent tower on the bridge and have his baton launcher ready in case they pull knives as we climbed up, and we would climb up for the arrest. Before we reached the top, they jumped off the side. In my view, this was not a survivable fall even into water at this height. As you can see from the video, one of the persons being reported is happily swimming away even after this fall.
I asked them to come into liason which they did. Their stated reason for jumping was because it was a fun end to the situation, a way to 'continue the RP' and that shouldn't make a big deal out of it. I did not agree and suggested if they could not see how I considered this NVL then we should not argue further. They claimed officers jumped down too. To my knowledge, no officers jumped down on purpose, however a couple of us did fall from partway down the ladder as we tried to get down and so RPed injuries from this and subsequently were given medical attention by NHS.
