OK, so here's the deal. At various points around the map, you'll find NPCs (non-playing characters) who run the shops, car-dealers, markets, drug-dealers, etc. Most of them are upstanding members of the community, with their feet firmly on the ground (quite literally).
However, some of them appear to either be floating up above the ground, or knee-deep in quicksand.
It's my job to try and find all these crazy NPCs, and correct them, so that they return back to terra-firma. As you can imagine, it's a tedious and long-winded job to find each and every one of them on the map, and then correct them, re-check, and so-on.
So this is where you come in. Wanna earn a cool $10,000 in-game cash for doing very little actual hard work? Great. Go find these floating (or sinking) NPCs, and report them to me IN THIS THREAD.
I will pay $10,000 per NPC, to the first person who reports that NPC on here. The money will come from my character's bank-account, rather than being ass-spawned by an admin... so you know it's truly an act of community kindness and concern. You will need to be on the server at some pre-arranged point so that my character (Ed Williams) can pay you*.
CONDITIONS:
NO bounty will be paid for the shopkeepers and NPCs in Kavala town-centre, including the DMV, hospital, Fish market, Boating Station, or any location in Kavala city limits. I already know about the floaters in Kavala and am working on them.
NO bounty will be paid for the Diamond Trader in Kalithea (grid ref 171/181) who is floating. I know about him, too.
NO bounty will be paid for any report of a floating drug-dealer. These guys are high as kites most of the time anyway, and it's all self-inflicted and deliberate!
NO bounty will be paid for crap reports. I want to know the profession (salt-trader, boat-seller, car-dealer, etc) of the NPC concerned, and whether he is floating or sinking (and ideally, a rough guesstimate of how much, but that won't affect the payout), and MOST IMPORTANTLY, I want a grid-reference. Nothing will be paid if the grid reference is missing!!! If you don't know how to find out a grid-reference, then learn, or don't participate!
Bounties will only be paid to the first player who reports a given NPC. No prizes for coming second in this game! Each NPC can only be paid-for once, however, a player may make many reports of different NPC, and (if first) will receive $10,000 for EACH first report! If you're really classy, you can report multiple NPCs in one post, but bear in mind that you may not win the prize if someone else has reported the same NPC before you, whilst you've been 'banking' them at home! Might be wiser to just 'get 'em in, get the cash', and make individual reports per NPC, but that's your call...
NO bounty will be paid for reports given over Teamspeak, Skype, in-game chat channels, or on post-it notes sent in by seagull. The aim is to create one centralised place that I can refer to later, not a shitstorm of scattered paperwork. I've got one of those already. It's called my desk.
I will (obviously) need to know your in-game character name at some point, so I can arrange payment. No name, no payment. It's that simple. Put it in your report-post (even if it is your forum-name), and don't leave me guessing. I won't pay if I have to hunt you down like a fool in order to stuff cash in your virtual wallet. This is all about making life *easier* for the developer, remember?
That's it, guys! Get hunting. Make Ed Williams poor, and find all those dodgy NPCs. Don't all kill each other in the rush!
*if the worst comes to the worst, I can add the cash to your account and deduct mine via 'developer-magic', but that's hardly RP, is it?
