Currently, G8.2 States:
(G8.2) Police may not sell their equipment, or willingly give their equipment away. If there is a strong roleplay cause, exchanges can be made.
While this rule did make sense with the old systems in place on the server, there have since been new mechanics added which affect the way in which faction equipment works, and the rule should be updated to reflect this.
Police equipment is no longer materialised out of thin air, police and other factions are restricted by a budget, and so money goes into the creation of these weapons. As well as this, police and other group command have access to logs of items withdrawn from the armoury, allowing them to see if any foul play is going on.
Allowing factions to give away/sell equipment adds another layer of roleplay to the server, allowing for a real level of corruption in the police, and using the systems in place currently, things like this can be dealt with in roleplay by police command and the courts. This would allow for better roleplay scenarios to take place in general on the server, as opposed to banning police members for things that could lead to much greater roleplay situations.
