Recommendations of the best thing to do for my PC

Currently I am running a mid budget PC and I sometimes can get decent frames within the server sometimes I can get 70-100 FPS during times of low activity but when the server is heavy i get low frames around 30-60 FPS, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what I could do to improve my frames/quality of the game.

I am currently running a RTX 2060 6GB along side with a low end CPU which I do plan on upgrading sooner or later which is a Ryzen 5 2600 I plan to go to a Ryzen 5 5600x due to the socket being the same.
I have 16GB of ram not too sure whether its DDR3 or 4.

Overall I do have a good experience on the server I would like to enjoy it further with better frames and quality, if anyone could send your suggestions on what is best to do that would be great.

Get that ram updated! go 32gb DDR5 if you can

Hard limit yourself to 60FPS via Gforce Experience helps.

But strangely I tried so much to improve FPS I was running 90-110 FPS. But regularly dipped to 20 round legion.

Cleaning my PC properly has helped more than any software change. And multiple others have said the same.

That would mean upgrading the motherboard, cpu and ram all together. You can still build a unit of pc on AM4.

5600x is solid CPU for the money, and with GTA being a CPU hungry game upgrading that would show the best returns in terms of performance.

As it’s on the AM4 platform you will have DDR4 ram. Upgrading to 32gb will help as well but the best upgrade you can make in my opinion would be going for a new CPU.

If you are going to upgrade the ram, it’s best to buy 2 16gb sticks instead of adding 2 more 8gb. If you do add 2 more 8gb then make sure they are exactly the same as what you currently have installed.

You can always lower your graphics settings slightly, that's free

So we have an update, got myself a R5 5600G sorry for the late reply, don't regularly come on the good ol' forums.
@MrTurn1p thank you for the suggestion but that would mean upgrading other components which I do not have the money to invest into at this moment due to the Christmas period.

@SGT Dean Hastings I have lowered pretty much all of my settings, even with my new CPU I am still getting stutters.

If anyone has anything else they could add that would be great, sometime in the future i will be looking to upgrade, in the meantime if anyone has anything that can resolve my game from being stuttery that'll be much appreciated.

Also FPS update with the new CPU not alot has changed but i now range 80-120 upper city ways (sandy, paleto) in city i get anything from 40-70 depending on how many are around, if anyone knows about updating certain things other then drivers for my GPU and windows, then let me know as I'm not entirely sure if you have to update a driver for a CPU as I originally got my PC earlier this year.
Anything to do with overclocking I should know about for my GPU as it is a lower end card, I have seen a few videos but I would rather have someone who actually knows then a kid on youtube haha.

There was 2 things that finnaly helped me with this.

Firstly capping yourself at 60FPS, above this mark you don’t see much difference to performance however you PC will have far more resources to work other areas.

Secondly there is a setting in the FiveM launcher for something I cannot remember exactly off the top of my head. But something along the lines of Fix Hitches at high frame rate. Whack that on and give it a try.

The thing that got rid of this issue all together was cleaning my PC. I hadn’t done it in years and got a electric blower and it honestly fixed so many issues.

When I capped my fps it shot up my packet loss. It went from the usual 3% to 18%-25%. After uncapping it went back to normal again. Not sure if that is just a me issue but I feel like it's a good thing to watch out for.

Try the FiveM setting or a good clean then.
