Prison System Change

Brief Summary:

Allow the use of fake names when going to prison

Detailed Suggestion:

When committing crimes you can provide the police with a fake name, but when you go into the prison it just uses the name connected to your character id so your real name. I think it would be good if the prison script doesn't assume the player will give a real name and should use the name that was given to the police when making the report. something that happened recently I was arrested I gave a fake name and was then sent to prison but when inside I escaped I had a warrant for my arrest even though this warrant should be for the fake name that I gave not my real name, due to the prison script when I was picked up by the police for this warrant they had a hard time figuring out why I was in prison since it looked like I was put in for no reason.

The Pros:

- Can create a false identity
- Possible fake ID cards
- Gives more "RP" reasons for using stolen cars

The Cons:

- Less people would carry ID cards so they can just lie about there name
- From what I've been told something like this is a lot of work to implement
- If you can think of more problems please comment it.

Does this suggestion change balance on the server ?
I think it could as the police would need to much more work into identifying players.

Fingerprints/dna tests (saliva or blood) could all be used to identify a suspect. Giving a fake name really wouldn't cut it I don't think.

On the streets however, a whole different matter. I rarely give people my chars real name, unless I know them well enough or am doing business with them.

I know exactly what you mean, I was thinking of this problem as well but didnt really know how to go around it effectively and still keep the current fucntionality, I do like the idea of having the possiblity of being able to create a fake identity and it staying with you through prison, cops have a lot of tools at their disposal to call your bluff and if they dont thats on them but you shouldnt have to get the consequenece of a warrant if you gone through the trouble of convincing them youre someone else, big +1

I wrote up a lengthy response on why I disagree with this but I feel it wasn't the best way to get my point across.

Basically, asking for more realism is a tricky path to tread because Police can step up the realism in response, the real question is, how long do you want to spend in custody?

potential prisoners will spend far longer in custody

I think in general there needs to be some changes made so that people can better create fake identities, although not easily. As said by @AdeDNA would be taken once you enter prison so this would explain why they have your name.

fake IDs are very fast detected in the real world. So to get "realism" to it, is not the right argument. And furthermore so many people dont have any ID on them already and to identify them is already a stretch, that means you spend even longer in detention than you want. People who are not known to the police are probably profiting the most out of this, since people who are casualy doing crime on a daily bases are very fast identified.

But currently is my advise: Dont get caught. Crims are currently very blatantly commiting illegal activities in front of the police. The attitute is a bit unrealistic.

-1 from me

I've already spent a lot of time in custody were here for the interactions so I think the time it takes isn't an issue. People that want to get through the system quickly wont be lying or try to create a fake identity.
