What does this mean for currently corrupt officers?

We are going to be running an amnesty period until June 1st, this will allow for you to finish up any current corruption arc with a death, a closing of a relationship. It is important to bear in mind that you can't be corrupt from TODAY, any weapons you have must be returned. Failure to hand in these weapons or going forward to sell these weapons will result in a ban, player faction blacklist and character deletion. 

Staff Leads & Management may authorise?

At a point in the future we will begin to issue passes to people in order to roleplay corruption, this will be determined based on your history as a player, roleplay story, and per unit balancing. This will not be open before the amnesty period is over. More details on this will be released when we begin to take applications.​

Corruption is more about gun control one would assume? as that's what most police do. Wil this not just tip the scale towards a rise in G6 corruption - being G6 for over a year, corruption was always high there?

What constitutes corruption? Scenario: Police officer takes gun off one person but not another because they like them a little more, even though knowing they have a gun... is that corruption or is that just shit policing because that would see half the police force banned if it is corrupt lol

not only gun control, also a case of just poor RP from police officers who act corrupt

In terms of history are we talking about ban history ? or are we talking about how the player performs in roleplay. E.G. promote high quality rp as a police officer and executing their job as a member of the police leading them to be given a pass to promote corruption but to a high end and good rp standard. 
 

Trying to get a broader sense of what would qualify a person to be corrupt

The frankly the police in general has had a more negative impact on the circulation of guns on the server and that's why police command has been requesting this rule for a while 

Police Command and staff have been working on this for a few months now to differentiate between misconduct and corruption. The definition is quite a tangle but tldr, all corruption is mostly likely also misconduct but not all misconduct is corruption

At last this change has come and I am happy with the change. Especially after recent times it has shown why this was a necessary intervention.

G6 is a lot harder to get into. Usually already having to have a nice RP background or uniqueness. Corruption there while common. Is harder to get someone in then a simple police method

 
in my time in CID I outed a few corrupt officers, resulting in a large chunk of them getting bans because they would just dish out like 50+ Armor/bandages and tasers and shit out from the Amory without valid RP reasons, it happened a lot more than ppl thought, I had a new one every week, this change makes sense lol 
also hopefully down the road it ups the quality of RP with corruption because corruption RP can be really funny if done well but as of recent the quality has been quite shit 

 
the word corrupt may be the wrong word to use for the ban, you can be corrupt without "selling" or handing out equipment and weapons, which please correct me if I am wrong is the main focus for this?

  • Police arrest some one, they have a history, they take him to a dark place, beat him with a stick, leave him there. ( Corrupt officer ? ban ? )
  • Police man hands out supplies and weapons to his "friends" ( Corrupt, deffo ban ) 
  • Police man makes 2 drug dealers fight for freedom instead of jail ( Corrupt, ban ? )
  • Police man scoops up a gang banger, takes his gun for his "gun safe" to sell later ( Corrupt, deffo ban )

Maybe reword to "Police Corruption Equipment " but also to include weapons officers farm off people in the city and pass on. " The sale, distribution or passing of any weapon or equipment from a Police officer is a now a bannable offence "? Maybe this will stop confusion and help with the line.

It doesn't just include equipment, seized items, evidence. It includes information, quid pro quo arrangements, police dumping PIC's, bribes etc..

It is important to note there is a distinction to be made on a case by case basis if the action falls into one of two categories. You have corruption, and you have misconduct. The rule of thumb is "Is this being done to benefit a criminal?" Police command and PSD have begun to work on a non-exhaustive list to categorise these actions.

What if some of those topics in corruption like PNC details for example are given out of an RP scenario where you (has a cop) were taken hostage and decide you wanna give the details as an RP reward and not just a give details because you are corrupt ?

I am happy this has been implemented as it is more motivating for the officers which are not corrupt.
