There are currently millions in prison in the US, how many times have you heard of police hostages being taken each year? Half, 1/4. Probably a lot less than that. You have a way out of it (don't do any crimes)

I do enjoy getting taken hostage. I think it can be a chance for some amazing RP. However Since becoming PC (a very short period of time) I have been taken hostage at least 10 times. Usually the guys are a bit of fun and 2 times they've done nothing more than hold me up for a while and then leave me in a random spot. However, it happens so often that it's just annoying.
I won't ever change the way I RP as a cop because of it, ie: If I see a crime or someone who needs help I'm going to stop, even if there's a fair chance there's an ambush waiting. But every time I do stop for one of these scenarios or see someone flaunting a gun all I think is "Oh dear, here we go again" before going up to them.
It's fun and I don't think we should have any rule against it but maybe one or two gangs should calm it down a little and come up with some new types of hostage taking rather than.

The other day it got to the point where there were two hostage scenarios at once. What mayhem.
I would like to remind people that is stretches our force thin and reduces roleplay for other players as all the police (or most) are taken away to the hostage situation.

About 2 hours ago or so while I was having some amazing and funny RP with a couple of Marmite Miners, another gang comes up out of nowhere and after a moment or two of talking..

One thing to appeal to some of the gangs that want to take us hostage for the fun of it. Please consider sparing the lives of our CSO's and PCSO's.
They're just volunteers, and especially the CSO, they are not armed and are not a threat to you. Just yell at them to drop any weapons/equipment, and let them go. Especially if your intent is to hold an Officer hostage for money, we're more likely to be more open for negotiations if we know you haven't already killed Officers.
