Ping

I know, being in the US I have a higher ping than a resident of the UK.

But is there some way to lower the ping?  I'm on a wireless dish, and the router/power supply for that dish is plugged into my PC with a long Ethernet cable.

Ping is the response time in short so the further the distance the higher it will be. U can try getting a apps like advanced system care to help cleanup junk files to help speed it up but there is nothing u will be able to to do bring it down massively.
