i was banned for making a stupid video which i thought was funny at the time

What have you been upto in the last 6 months+ ?

in the last 6 months i have been focusing on uni work trying to get a 1st in computer programming as well as work

Why do you want to return ?

I would like to return to the community for a numerous amount of reasons, firstly I still have a lot of mates who still play in this community and during the time i have been banned the bridges i have made with people have been lost which is something i would like to rebuild. Secondly this was the first Arma server i fully got into which is why i have a lot of time invested on this server, I was a part of this community from near the beginning back in 2014 rolling around with goose cartel, EXP and Ti, during this time and more recent times on the server I had a lot of memorable times on here. Thirdly, I will admit I have tried other community's and they're not the same, I just can't seem to enjoy them as much which is why I did ban evade just to get that old times feel again and to play with a couple old mates who are still playing on here today. Finally, not going to lie ever since I got banned of RPUK games have been pretty dry, I am constantly looking for new good games however there is none at the minute and with this mass unban opportunity I'm not going to pass on putting up an appeal.

Why should we unban you ?

First off i have had my fair share of chances in this community and i am grateful for that. Over the year that i was unbanned i didn't break any rules other than the ban thats got me here now, i got on well with everyone in the community and over all was not a disturbance in anyway. What i was banned for was not meant to be offensive to any person in particular it started out as a simple "meme" which evolved after the people i was playing with at the time got blanket banned which then lead that video progress more and more into what you have seen. i have never been banned for mass RDM, VDM, "poor quality RP" and especially racism. I have PMed Stavik as he was the one that was dealing with the situation at the time and most likely the one who is going to be dealing with this appeal. As i said before i still have a lot of people who i used to be mates with but don't really talk to anymore since my initial ban, i would really like the opportunity to be able to come on to the server and chill with them again. I have had a year to think about what i have done i think just turning 19 at the time and i've just turned 20 going through 2nd year at uni, moving out and getting my own apartment has made me mature quite a bit and i feel as though i am ready to make a return in the community. I was also interacting with people on the forums trying to make this community a better place and finding bug fixes which needed to be fixed. I know all the rules especially the one which i have broken and if getting a second chance won't be broken again.

EDIT: I know that the video resurfaced i think it was some time back in April/May if i am correct, this had nothing to do with me! i was banned back in October last year i think after about a month or so it just got boring i deleted it to free up some room and to get unnecessary crap of my PC. I had nothing to do with RPUK at that time i was well over the ban and had nothing against the community. However, that video was on youtube and plenty of people seen it anyone of them could have downloaded it as a MP4 and republished it. At the time i was making an unban appeal if you do the logic why would i re-post that video if i am trying to get unbanned? I remember speaking to Nalurah because she messaged me on steam at the time about the video and i explained that it wasn't me.

I am just going to start of by saying i was going to message you on discord however, i couldn't find you and i cant join the RPUK discord.

Now, its been almost a year since you dealt with the video and my ban, i am assuming that everything a chilled by now and we can talk about this as adults. I'd like to start of by apologising for going onto your Facebook and getting the image of you. the video was originally meant to be a "meme" about the plebs being unbanable, but after you and matt came in the channel and was trying help us not getting a blanket ban and with everyone acting like children in the channel it obviously happened. During the time of people being banned i was heavily influenced into adding on to that video and surly when you seen the video you knew that it wouldn't have just been me who came up with all the ideas yet i am the one who took all the blame for the video. it annoys me at the fact we used to be tight back in the TLC days with alfred and while you was in the plebs. I can fully understand why you was so pissed when you came into the teamspeak and while we was speaking in the channel, i should never have publicised your personal photo for everyone to see. Before i put my apeal in i thoughgt it would be best send you a message since you was the one dealing with the situation and the one who was most effected by the video just to try and clear the air a bit between you and i. Its up to you whether or not you want to reply to this however, i understand if you dont.

Ah yes I remember it now, not very creative or entertaining but I am sure you impressed one of your boyfriends like intended.

You see not an issue using me or vladic, we enjoy the fame! We have so many fans! but the moment you overstepped the mark was using Stavik and Nalurah's picture, There is simply no returning from that.

These are people who give up and have given up countless hours of there spare time to keep a gaming community as enjoyable as possible.

Don't really know where to start to be honest however, i know this appeal is most likely going to be denied. Don't want to come across as arrogant when saying this but all the images i used was from public sources yours was from google images, matt and vladics pics were from twitch and the one of nalurah is also from a twitch live stream i believe and staviks was from his public Facebook profile, i understand that still does not make it right to go put them in a video. This was not a situation like what happened to mryan that was a private photo that was passes around when he was underage. I have apologised to both nalurah and stavik for the video and there is nothing else that i can do. Bridges well and truly have been burned however, bridges can also be remade.

You are quite right... you can sit there and admire the public images, wank to them or whatever you and your friends do with each other!... but the moment you put them in a video and then further still making slanderous claims in that video, Well that is overstepping the line

So say for a moment your management here, you have the power to keep "Linx" aka yourself banned to set it in stone that any form of abuse to staff will not be tolerated here under any circumstances under the understanding that "Linx" knew that day when he created the video that would be it for him.

Or would you not set in stone the expectation that abuse to the staff team is not tolerated here under any circumstances and give "Linx" another go

If its the second option I expect an extremely detailed explanation into why you would come to that conclusion

If we look at my previous history throughout playing on the server, right back to the start. I would most likely say keep "me" banned however, if you are looking through the battle-metrics bans and all of the other bans are in the past, long gone by this point and don't inflict on this current ban i know of 1 other ban, which was calling staff members "retards". I have explained this so many times however that was not directed at the staff team, it was directed at the guy i was in liaison with at the time (Still not making it right and deserved the ban) and Samuel Thompson miss herd it and the ban reason of Neo was "calling staff members retards". This does not look good as i have basically been banned for the same thing again (staff team harassment) however, its worse this time. There is no way to prove if it was directed at staff or not but Neo was well respected throughout the community at the time, meaning that you are probably going to sway to his side, there is noting i can do about that but accept it. I have said all that needs to be said on this ban i seriously cannot think of anything else i can say, i have been truthful with you in every answer!

I think if someone has a slight bit of common sense they would know that making a video or another form of giving staff harassment/abuse would be an indefinite ban. Keeping myself banned I feel would do no justice to this whether or not someone will or wont give the staff team abuse this is because people make their own decisions off their own backs and do stupid things, lets look at the situation i was in for example, all the people i played with on here was blanket banned and told they would never return, because of the situation i was placed in i didn't want to particularly play on the server because of this and i didn't "care", so i then on a racinal decision went and made a stupid video fine well knowing what happened to the people who made "ALUK mongs". Those people were not allowed back to the community and were indefinitely 1.6'd but at the time didn't "care" because all my mates were banned. So "Linx" has been banned for a year now and has had time to reflect on what happened, yes it was a stupid video made himself look like a tit, people make mistakes sometimes big sometimes small but you learn from them. On the flip side of this you could full well unban me however, in the eyes of the community people might get the perception of "oh i can go and abuse staff and get away with it" which in turn makes the community look weak and you not caring about the well being of your staff team. If someone goes and makes them mistakes they suffer the consequences simple, but they best spend some time looking at what they done and write a good appeal.

I am in 2 minds whether or not i would give myself a second chance as i am sure you are in the same boat, seen as though you didn't straight up denied the appeal which you probably should have done however, you have given me the opportunity to try and dig myself out of a hole, a one that is 20ft deep. I have made an effort in the appeal im sure you can see this, if unbanned i would be grateful if denied i will understand.

Lag switches and other interesting files... surely not used for Altis Life ? Are people really interested in stuttering roleplay ?

If I'm being honest I dont actually know who set the teamspeak up I believe it was someone lower down in narcos, the gang was only on the server for a month when i was leading it i seen that people was getting bored of the community and couldn't care less if they got banned and would just constantly look for gun fights so i decided to disband it the people that was left in narcos merged with 183, me and mcree then went and joined TLC also when I was leading narcos we would use the rpuk teamspeak. I obviously knew of the teamspeak but that only got made in the last week or so of the gang being around, they used but I rarely ever went in there, when I was in TLC and they was banned in the 183 blanket, I literally stopped speaking to them for a year because the only way i communicated with them was either in game or on the RPUK teamspeak. I believe someone who was in the gang at the time who was wanting to get unbanned gave you the ip so whoever made the ts kept changing the port and i couldn't be arsed to follow them around constantly asking for the new port.

As for the lag switch I knew of one being in the the teamspeak but what's the point of using one? You hold the keybind, stop and teleport it's so blatantly obvious it's not even worth trying to get away with. I've never been banned on here or other community's for lag switching, I'm sure if i used one I would have been caught, it also doesn't interest me in gaining an advantage in a gun fight because thats just boring. As for the other people who used that teamspeak i guess they liked their stutter rp i guess.

It seems Stavik forgives you for your stupidity, Have you seeked forgiveness from Nalurah ?

Based on this appeal that's the only stumbling block at the moment, If the answer to that is no then I would hate to see an approach now just because of this appeal... what would not be sincere.

A couple days after the video got out i got a steam message from nalurah and i genuinely felt shit she was nothing but nice to me then i go do that, i did apologise back then i'm sure @Nalurah can confirm this and i believe we are on good terms.

I do not feel there is anything more to say, This appeal as ran its course and your being unbanned, What you did was nothing but stupid and in future I would focus your efforts on more positive productive things, I hope you've learnt a lot from this and we wont experience any more issues from you.
