Please provide a link to your previous denied appeal.

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.

Sorry for not linking a ban appeal. Kinda figured i'd be permanently banned.

I was banned because of a situation that came about while I was in charge of the police over skins and misunderstandings due to conflicts in views between me and my friends and staff.

What have you been upto in the last 6 months+ ?

Since leaving the community I have took a step back from Arma 3 as a game and have been playing with old friends in other games. I also took time out of gaming to sort my life out IRL and get back on track as a person. Although I may have been on other communities I am not involved in the creation of any of them and was merely looking around at what else is out there.

Why do you want to return ?

I want to return because the friends I made on here mean more than the arguments that I have had with staff members. I would also like to play the game as it is intended to and just have fun role playing and have no interest the politics of the game.

Why should we unban you ?

First of all I'd like to say i'm sorry for the way I reacted and I realise that this was not the decent thing to do in the situation I was in. The reason I did it was because I wanted to leave to the point where I was unable to return as I felt my life was being consumed by the game and I was missing out on important things in my life. I now feel this was a mistake. I want to play here specifically because I had 2 good years playing within the community and helped establish the police force to what it is today and feel like I don't want my effort to go to waste.
Thank you for your time,
fisher

@fisher2I do believe there is a document floating around from yourself that hasn't been removed and is still being shared which is full of lies, Also may I remind everyone of your's and frys deleting of police documents, I didn't expect it from you but it was one mistake in 2 fond years of having you around.

I don't deal with unban's anymore but would like some answers to what you expected to achieve, I am sure @Vladic Kawill deal this once we have a response.

@Wilco I have removed all the documents I created and if there are still documents I own I will be happy to take them down if you or anybody else finds them just simply private message this account.

In regards to what I wanted to achieve from them documents in the first place was that I wanted my side of the story to be known at the time and I wrote them on how I felt. I didn't want anyone to leave the community or hate upon anyone here. I wanted simply to kinda clear my own name and my friends. I was a strong part of this community's police force and I never wanted to destroy it. I took my police documents with me as at the time I felt they belonged to me but looking back I created them to better the police force and at the time of creating them I wanted them to be used into the future of the police.

Well actually you left the police force in turmoil due to your actions. Something that through the strength of our community and the skill of the people who replaced you they fully recovered from.

Clear your name from the wrongdoing that you did ? Unsure that was possible straight after you did it! As Vladic said you left the Police in turmoil and if it wasn't for the replacing CSI's at the time it could of had a very serious knock on effect to this server and community.

What you did was disgusting Fisher and you should be ashamed of yourself and your actions, Clearly your not which I do not understand... maybe your a different person that we known throughout those 2 years.

I understand that it could have had a knock on effect that could have been very serious for the community and for that I am very sorry for that. I did leave the police in a very bad state and I am also very sorry for this. I acted with haste and was angry at the situation.

I knew when creating the nasty documents and also removing the police documents that the people who are around would be capable of recovering the police and I did pass a few documents over when contacted about them. This is not a good enough excuse to justify these actions and I fully understand I was in the wrong for doing this but I cannot change what I did now and can only say sorry for this.

In regards to me saying I posted it to clear my name I meant this as I was trying to make it feel like it was the right thing to do and that is how I felt at the time. Coming to you 6 months down the line, I see this as appalling actions and completely understand why I was wrong to do what I did. I am ashamed and embarrassed that I let my self do such vile acts towards a community I have been a massive part of and the people who I called my friends which where the people who replaced me within the police and the staff members I attacked in my documents. I am sorry for this and wish there was a more meaningful way in which I could prove this than writing sorry.

This is quite the dilemma. Having looked back through the chain of events, and without wanting to repeat what has been said, it’s clear you did set out to harm this community - and that’s upset a good number of people within it. It certainly shocked me. The fact you’ve openly expressed your regret goes some way for reconciliation but when balanced with what happened - it’s a very tough call indeed. We all make mistakes - but this, as you well know, was clearly a premeditated action designed to cause harm to the community.

Additionally, it’s a difficult situation I find myself in. Either result is going to result in some dissatisfaction somewhere - I’m sure some people are happy to see the back of you, while others want you back. I hope you can see that even now, your actions are having long term effect - this isn’t ideal.

On the other hand, you’ve been around for some time (2 years) without previous incident (as far as I’m aware). Your ascent through the police was testament to your loyalty and ability, which makes this situation even more surprising. As a community, we do need to have a healthy dose of pragmatism and perhaps forgiveness but at the same time, we have to look at what’s best for the community as a whole and not be fools about it:

Will your return have a negative effect on the community as a whole?

While there’s no question that you did negatively affect the community at the time (particularly the police), I don’t believe the community would be a worse place for having you in it. The Police on the other hand, is a different story.

So, given your prior history and previous good record, we are willing to allow your return under the following conditions: (Which I believe are incredibly fair given the circumstances)

  • There are no warnings of any kind - ever. You screw up; you’re out.
  • You are not permitted to join ANY whitelisted faction. Unfortunately, the trust has gone, and bridges need to be rebuilt.

I’m putting my trust in you Fisher, no - the community is putting their trust in you. This is my first action as a community manager, please don’t make it be a mistake.

Let’s start afresh and move forward with some positivity.

Please accept the terms of your surrender and we’ll get cracking. Welcome back.

Before I accept the terms of the ability of being allowed to come back I have a couple of questions to ask as I don't want to cause any trouble or offence and make your first action a mistake.

1. As I am sure you aware, because this game mode is created by players on a platform that was not designed to be played this way i.e. ARMA 3 being a milsim, sometimes disputes occur from misunderstandings and situations where players fall out. Could this be considered me screwing up and if so would I be permanent banned?

2. As I am not able to join white listed factions am I able to join other server white listed factions? I do not intend on bringing players to them I simply would like to play in more than one location.

I'd like to say a big thank you for allowing the chance and I'm sorry if this comes across insulting by asking these questions. I just don't want to disappoint if I do return and you see me playing elsewhere. I understand I am a controversial character from the past of the server because of my actions and want to return with a good light instead of negativity and drama so I will only accept if I am certain I will not cause any issues. In regards to the police happy to be called upon for advice but in all honest I didn't see myself returning I played that role for a solid 2 years.

Finally, I'd like to congratulate you on your role and say thank you for taking the time to review me and my unban.

These questions are not insulting at all, they are valid (and perfectly reasonable) and I have no problem answering them:

1. You will be afforded the 'rights' of all other community members meaning, as long as you don't break rules (or doing anything deemed to harm the community), you're not 'screwing up'. We are by no means looking for first opportunity to turf you out, on the contrary, we wouldn't allow your return if we thought you were going to be a problem. So in short, no.

2. As the management team have stated previously in an announcement, you are free to play on other servers and yes, you are free to join other factions on other servers. We have an open community and where you play is entirely up to you: I hope to see you around RPUK regularly but you are under no obligation of course.

I hope that clears things up.

Oh, and thank you! I look forward to seeing you in game!

Welcome back!

I (believe) I've correctly unbanned your original forum account - that should work (let me know if not, I'm still figuring this out!)

I'll get someone to unban you as at the moment, I have no idea where the big red undo button is.

You're welcome!
