OPERATION BLACKOUT

TOP SECRET

SITUATION
One month ago the island of Straits was attacked by ISIS forces, as the island was not deemed to be of strategic importance Army personal had been shipped out to help with the conflict in Altis. Due to low numbers an evacuation was called and the units pulled out. During the fighting 26 British Army persons were killed along with 12 American Special forces. Satellite has shown that nearly 600 ISIS members are stationed on the island.

The UK government was uncomfortable sending a sizable task force in to retake the island for fear that the loss of more British Soldiers on foreign soil could result in a poor public opinion of the government, and given next year's general election that's not something the Prime Minister wishes.

This all changed two days ago when a Russian made MIG 35 entered Altis Airspace and was engaged by a Eurofighter Typhoon, after a short dogfight the MIG broke off its attack and returned back to Base. Radar confirms it was heading in the direction of stratis. Given that ISIS now have the location and equipment to launch air attacks into Europe the government was very quick to reevaluate it's stance on military action.

MISSION / EXECUTION

Task Org

We are going in as a group of 8, split into 2 fire teams, these will work independently to complete the tasks. Gladiator 1-1 will be the lead group for any section wide decisions that need to be made.

Task

We are going in to disable key positions that include; radio towers, mobile phone masts and more importantly the radar based at air station. mike. In addition to this we have confirmed the location that the islands new commander is staying, locate this house and retrieve and Intel you deem could be of importance.

Purpose

Shortly after we destroy these positions the main attack will occur, with out the radio towers and mobile the enemy will be confined to short range radios and land lines. Without radar jets will be able enter and destroy planes on the ground with our the risk of them being scramble.

End State

On mission completion all the towers and radar must be destroyed. The Intel although important is not mission critical.

Method

You will aproach from the sea in mini submersibles, once you are with in 100 meters of the shore you will swim and begin your assault. You have full control over how you prioritise your targets however: You must not kill any combatants unless you are forced to do so. You have no back up so stealth is key. Once you have completed the mission return to the sea and RV with the HMS Triumph.

COMMUNICATIONS
What

Make sure all patrols are being called up including the direction of travel. I also want us to really work on calling out what position you have taken when we take up an all round defence, so “covering north” simple stuff.

Who

Your fire team leaders will have long range radios the frequencies are as follows:

Gladiator 1-1: 81.6MHz

Gladiator 1-2: 342.4MHz

Long Range: 168.2MHz

How

Keep communications short and clear, if you hear “break, break”; shut up and listen, it's going to be important.

SERVICE SUPPORT
Who

We will only have our selfs in the field and there will be no back up.

What

We will be equipped with silenced ADR-97s as well as silenced pistols. Each man will also carry 3 timed explosives.

RISKS / CONCERNS

With in towns the street lights will mean you can't move quite so easy though the towns, the main risk however is patrols in the hills, these are usually in groups of 4 so the best thing is to avoid all contact with persons. We need to complete this mission, but we also need to return home. Good luck.
