Welcome to the October Newsletter, this is where we bring you the latest information, news and Gossip from the ALUK Administration to the Hobo’s on Kavala Square.
This will be our biggest newsletter to date and the start of change within ALUK.
Weekly Events
Saturdays Aftermath event kicked off without a hitch with some good feedback from those that attended and was attended by quite a few members until the late hours of the evening.
Special Thanks to OPTiX whom provided two servers for the event.
In ALUK, Shadow hosted a fun illegal Go-Kart race from Kavala to Athira. It was a fun event with some fantastic sting’s set up (with hardly any notice) by the police force.
The race was won by Jack Rippoff, congratulations on the win, and spend the winnings wisely.
More in-game events will be coming soon from fantastic roleplay events, man hunts, and incursions, to races and marathons.
ALUK - Expanding the limits!
So far this has been a very popular move as we are now seeing with most days already seeing over 300 people on teamspeak each night!
You may have noticed “server 3” getting added to the ALUK server tracker bar over the weekend.
We can now confirm that we have invested and added a 5th dedicated server to our network.
Its all setup and ready to go to allow more people to enjoy the ALUK experience, however, at the moment we are not ready to make it live until we have restructured the admin team
We're currently changing the staff positions within ALUK which means new positions will be opening up soon!
The new structure will be laid out as followed,
Administration
Founder
Developer
Head Administrator
Senior Administrator
Admin
Forum Team
Member Support
Forum Moderator
Ingame Team
Game Moderator
And our frontline team
The Mentors
You can only apply to one position, so choose carefully.

We look forward to bringing you server 3 next weekend!
Clueless Framework Rumours Answered
Answer: Pushed back from when? Look, the framework is not an easy task. Yes we have a playable version that is very well optimised and coded from the ground up but it's without features which we are progressing with plus there is detail we wish to put more time into, Let's be clear again there is no timeframe on the framework and we will bring it to you as soon as it's ready!
Rumour: There is no framework!
Answer: Yes there is and when we are ready we will share screenshots/videos and more detail of things you are going to completely love!
Rumour: Mentors get to play the framework first
Answer: No one gets to play the framework first, It will be released to everyone when it's ready, The only testers we will have at first are admins, then the users (be prepared for a few weeks of updates as we react to any bugs)
Rumour: The framework is only being released to create revenue after BIS contacted us.
Answer: When BIS contacted and we had very good positive conversations with a senior Bohemia developer and from that we got a very valuable contact.
Altis Life UK provides a very stable community for a lot of Arma players and provides hours of countless enjoyment on the servers/ teamspeak and forums (it's an all-round experience).
Without complaints from ALUK we knew the donation system had to change for everyone and again we took pride in leading the way being the first community to change the way we received donations, which we are very proud of.
Although they are massively important in keeping our 5 dedicated servers online they are not why the framework is being released, We did our complete best to get the most out of Tonics framework however it's not very optimised and that's our goal with the framework, In-fact Tonic has since allowed monetization on his framework, something which we decided not to do.
Any other rumours?
Answer: Ignore them! Unless we said it, it's not worth talking about!
New Mentors!
Myself and Robert have interviewed 19 applicants! It’s taken a while and the competition was extremely close!
Congratulations to……
Well that’d spoil the fun, Stay tuned for the Mentor Announcement!
A big Thank-You to the Mentors whom over the last month alone have helped around 800 people. This number continues to increase each month and is why we are expanding the mentor team with 10 new mentors.
From Neo:
Well that's it for this month's newsletter, but as usual, there's always something around the corner, so thank-you to all the members of this community for contributing your time and love for ALUK.
See you on on the streets!
