Ten years ago, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Santos underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire Merryweather!
Yes you need to be a certain age to get this.... but with a few gang burritos buzzing around im sure a few of you get it.
So anyway. Merryweather as a faction..... absolutely could work in todays server. This got suggested when the server first opened. i remember it well as I was quite new at the time and saw a lot of the older heads in the community critique it, and for good reason. However, now its different. it could work.
Ok so what could they do? they can do everything! As a PMC they can sit within the law or even just outside it. In a city like LS i would say they will operate within the law predominantly, working out of Fort Zancudo and not getting shot down by the SAM systems would be a good start. There is plenty they could offer similar to other organisations but there are some things they could do that others cant/dont do currently.
Bulletproof vest manufacture and sales - leather and plastic to make kevlar vests for people.
Helicopter sales/aeroplane (possibly) sales also.
Medevac = possibly just pick people up and take them to hospital if NHS arent available/able to get to people.
Prisoner transport to and from Bolingbrooke (help G6 or offer alternative contracts).
court security?
bullion transfer around the city? precious metal delivery to the jewellers etc.
private protection contracts to rich or high value individuals. Cayo perico?
underwater salvage? (utilize the sea lanes more)
I realise that some of the above will be unpopular as there are already groups who do this stuff. There can also be competition!
They would not be armed however, this is a key point. Possibly some sort of baton/shield like a regular security guard but no guns or at best pistols, akin to gruppe 6 and only licensed for certain roles. They dont want to be taking over the role of the Police Service, even though they have done that in various nations around the world.
Basically i am throwing out a load of ideas in the vain hope that something promotes a bit of discussion as it is a faction within the lore who could easily be replicated within the game. The uniforms already exist in the clothing lines and the Jeeps (Canis Mesa) already exist. Everything is there to start RPing it now but they just need some people who want to have a go at it and join in really.
Does this imbalance the server = yes massively, its horrendous isnt it, imagine having a new faction flying around in helicopters and jeeps having a riot of a time!
