My Police Rant

i think its the same in any faction, rebel gang , you will get your good eggs and bad eggs , ive had some great rp from police on normal patrols this week which has been great fun ,

then on the other foot i saw probably the funniest or worse thing depending on your view point from a member of AR who ran around a corner in agios screaming Rubber Rubber Rubber whilst shooting off his tazer, i nearly fell off my balcony laughing it was so comical

and im sure if you ask police they will have stories from unmc and rebel gangs of good and bad rp situations , thats just the way it is when you play in a community the size of ours

Of course there are officer that are not as good as others, there are over 300 officers. If you take the time to come up with a good interesting RP story and carry it out well you will most likely get away with it, the officer will always listen to your RP but it is up to them if you get away with it or not.
But that isnt the case anymore. As i said the majority of officers now seem to tell you to put your hands up instantly or regardless of your RP

Well this goes both ways as most of the time we pull someone over the first thing they said is I have friends on the hill.

Logged into the server tonight to take a look myself. First policeman I came across.

Now this is not to say all police just do this rubber thing and I don't really know what happened before this but yeah.

You don't show the situation from the start, how do we not know they had some good RP before he ran and issuing compliance was the last resort?

So then what was the point of posting half the situation? To show the police in a bad light?
Im just posting my first encounter of police tonight. It made me think of this thread. Thought it was ironic.

I take all community concerns very seriously here and always will highlight things I think are an issue. If my post does anything I hope it makes someone think next time they are issuing compliance not to use the same generic term.

At the end of the day I mean again, I don't have evidence right now, but guarantee I can get some, officers often threaten unarmed civs with rubbers / tazers. Sometimes it's justified, but if they just don't want to talk or run off I mean just rubbering someone to say 'don't spit' etc isn't great. I'm not in anyway saying this is what happened, he could've threatened them, i'm giving examples of what i've witnessed.

I understand that is your job, however to post half a situation is really bad in my opinion, its like me having really good RP with a rebel then he initiated and only posting his initiation in the forums, I believe your post will not help, only fuel the fire, if you believed it was so bad why not dealing with it there and then, wait you didn't because you don't know the full situation, instead you name and  shame him on the forums?

I have no issue with what the guy said. You do?

No, I have an issue with the fact that you found the need to post that? What does it help? I feel you are simply trying to fuel the fire by posting his issue of compliance. When for all you know he had the best RP of his life before that.

Would you not agree that more could be said though?

'sir please stop or i'll be forced to incapacitate you, sir all I want is to chat, sir why are you running' etc etc but make an effort. May not have made ANY difference, but, if I was in the hobo's position, not going to lie a change in wording would make me stop and talk, simple and blunt 'stop or you'll be rubbered' repeated 3 times isn't RP, like you said though, before it could've been great. But why does it have to stop there? One of the biggest points im trying to make is that under these conditions cops have the tendency to give low quality RP, rather than still attempting to roleplay. Unless he had a gun, which he may have, but may not have, what was the dude going to do?

How do you not know that this was his 2nd or 3nd time issuing compliance ? and the first time was around the line of what you stated?

Ok bud. Keep on burning.
You said yourself there was nothing wrong with what he did so are you simply trying to name and shame? Because you for one must know that will only fuel the fire that you apparently don't want to start.

Josh man just chill. If you think everything is ok man you have zero to worry about. I will watch out for this and highlight it to the seniors if I see it more.

Shelby i really agree with the points you've mentioned, a year ago when i was a wondering hobo that wanted to join fhe police, there was so much roleplay and professionalism that gets worked and put together into them. The 3 minute rule and valuing your life and such. Back in the day you had to actually pass the interview stage and actually preform the correct police duties, Im a Cpl. in the UNMC and most people would think im as biased as you could be seeing that i have served 6 months in the unmc, ill be honest, a year + ago, police were scary as shit and they were good, nowadays all im seeing is a bunch of 18 year olds with the minds of kids that just want a gunfight and arent paying attention to roleplay.

Im not flaming the police or anything but seriously get your shit together and grow up.. its seriously getting annoying most of your force is also fed up so are we (UNMC) and im pretty sure rebels can back me up. The server is our home no matter what our mindset is we still come to this server for one Thing and thats only to have fun and meet new people, i can tell you i have met alot of people on this server who i think personally are the best people i have met in my whole life and i havent even seen them in real life..

Bottom line is, we're taking shit too personal, its just a fucking game in the end, stop getting worked up on a fucking stolen pixal.
