My PC Build

Hey Guys,

So, I started PC gaming a good few years ago, when I got my first PC, it was a prebuilt office PC from PC world - yea, it was terrible.   After about 5 years of having that, I put a SSD and a really bad GPU in there, just as a temporary upgrade. After about 6 years of having that pc, I decided enough was enough and started saving up and planning for a new PC build.

Old PC with 970 for scale

The specs for the PC I put together are below:

CPU: Intel i5 6600K (Overclocked to 4.8 GHz) Intel i7 6700K (Overclocked to 4.6GHz)

CPU Cooler: Corsair GTX H100i

Motherboard: ASRock Z170 Extreme6

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 2400 MHz

GPU: Asus Strix GTX 970 MSI GTX 980ti Golden Edition

Case: NZXT H440 (Black/Orange)

Power Supply: EVGA G2 650w EVGA G2 1000w

Drives: Samsung 840 120GB SSD

            Crucial BX100 250GB SSD

            WD 1TB HDD

            WD 2TB HDD

I was happy with this build, but after about a month, I decided to upgrade the Graphics Card, so I returned the card to Amazon and picked up a new card, I decided to go with the MSI GTX 980ti golden edition.  I decided to get this one because, the 980ti is a powerful card, but the golden edition matches my colour scheme perfectly. (Pics attached)

A few pics of the updated build below:

Thanks,

Thanks :)  that was the plan for this build. Wanted some eye candy as well as preformance.

Forgot to mention that after the next upgrade I'm thinking of doing some watercooling. I've done some research and it seems I can keep the backplate of the 980ti. So that's an added bonus

Sold my powersupply and cpu to a friend, buying myself some better parts with the money I got:

CPU: i7 6700K

PSU: EVGA 1000w G2

The same guy still owes me a fair amount of money for buying some csgo skins from me, will probably get another graphics card when he pays up for that :)

So my mate finally paid up some of the money he owed me for csgo skins and I got a new graphics card - also spent some time doing the cables with some cable combs.

I still didn't paint the sli bridge painted.  Do you guys think it would look better the same colour as the backplate on the GPU?

That looks great mate!!

How long did it take you to do the PSU cable sleeves? I'd like to do mine but i'd need a new PSU and actual desire/drive!

God no, I didn't do that myself xD

Paid a bit extra for the cable mod cables.  I haven't got the patience to do anything that involves skill/effort myself :)  The Cable Mod cables are quite expensive for some cables that you don't even see most of, but in my opinion, it finishes off the build rather nicely.

Lutr0 > Cablemod

skill/effort = manual labour to him.

Also, get it painted with a colour match on the heatpipes.

Ignore my last comment, it's an amazing computer and I would give my left nut to be able to see it in person.

^ Silly Owen, forgot my posting formats. Try harder next time.
