My CSGO gambling story..

I'm going to make this quick but I wanna type this up to share with the interwebs my stupidity and to warn others of how devastating the effects of gambling can be.

So, I had a decent CS GO inventory with some nice items (a knife and some expensive skins). I came across a roulette website which allows you to turn your skins into virtual money, bet that money, and withdraw your winnings in skins using the virtual money you won. So I put about $30 of skins in hoping to earn $300 to get my dream knife (butterfly knife fade) and I was slowly making money. I got to about $60 when I got greedy, I bet $30 and lost. This scared me so I bet $10, I lost. Now I knew I had no choice but to go all in with $20 so I did and lost.

At this point I realised I had a good strategy and could a good knife but it would take time. I knew that as long as I made no stupid bets or got greedy I would make money. So, I put my knife in and got $100 of virtual money. I began betting this and in a couple of hours made $50 with my strategy. However, the knife I wanted was $300 and it was taking too long. I realised that the green had not been landed on in a while (there is a 1/14 chance of it landing green and pays x14 of your bet) so I began betting on green. $1 followed by another followed by another etc. After a while my balance had dropped to $120 without realising. I got nervous and bet higher on green and kept losing until eventually I was at $100. What did I do? I panicked and went all in, I lost.

So after doing 100 pressups to relieve the adrenaline and anger I bought another knife from opskins for $100 which I bet on this site. Again, my strategy was working fine and I got to $200. I was absolutely in the right mindset to win (and this time I had changed my objective to a $220 knife and I was so close). I must have been shaking or something because I went to place a $2 bet but instead bet $200. And guess what..I lost.

So that's my story of how I lost $300+ gambling and I will never go near one of those sites again. Not much purpose in this post other than to get it off my chest but maybe it will stop someone making the same mistake I did >_>

Thanks for reading ^

This is why I don't care about skins, in CSS they were free and community made whereas CSGO skins cost a shit ton and are basic recolours. Not worth it imo.

I had a similar problem.

I gambled, watched my friend eat into the thousands of pounds of skins and at one point had a total inventory of around £1000 +. So I started.

The moment I started I got a rush - It was crazy, I couldn't stop winning - I was winning hundreds by the hour whilst my friends watched with shock and awe. I felt like I was rolling in the cash, never saw so mush on me at one time ahhahahah.

And then I sold some lost some and here I am today. And a super thanks to @CMO Lharmonfor getting me off this gambling track.

Don't gamble. Its fucked up, and I see people like @Kaden who wants to. Don't do it, the reason all those YouTubers win? Its fixed. - I became good friends with a lad who owns one of the biggest sites and he makes approximates £9000 a week if not more. However - %50 of that goes to sponsoring these YouTubers paying for their losses until they win.

I'm sorry to hear about what happened Hatch and Co.

Don't gamble. It's seriously fucked and addictive.

Please... If anyone needs help - contact me. @CMO Lharmon you saved me. And I am ever grateful. </3

Buy the skins don't gamble them xD

The only type of gambling I have made profit from on CS GO is betting on matches

lost over 700$ worth of shit, gave up playing cs with default skins, bought some more, traded for keys, opened cases...

One thing people has to keep in mind, the only reason these gambling sites are still going, is because they bare making loads of money, they are not giving you any advantage whatsoever.

I went from £350 inventory to £150, i feel you bro :(  #RIP Bayonet Fade

People don't seem to understand until it's to late Online Gambling is the same as real gambling you can still lose your life saving if your not careful, Glad you got out while you kept your wits about you. To many people fall into this trap and never come back out, avoid gambling all in all and you will be better off. Cut your loses and bug out.

If you're going to gamble your skins, at least do it on CSGOLounge/Dota2lounge on important matches. Do not gamble on jackpot/roulette sites unless you are ready to lose what you are gambling. I used to have some skins in DotA2 a couple of years back and decided to start betting on The International games and let's just say I made about 20 times what I had when I started by simply informing myself on the teams. Having deep knowledge of the game and understanding the meta at the time helped as well in predicting which teams would upset and which teams would keep a good form.

There's really good money to be made out of betting on Dota or CS matches, especially now that Valve has made it clear that whoever gets caught throwing games will get permanently banned from being a professional player. Even so though, I would suggest only betting on important tournaments and matches just to be sure the teams give it their best.

Also, don't ever bet on BO1 games. Never.

Lol I have 3 blue skins and 30 hrs on CSGO, i really dont see why people are willing to spend so much money on a coloured weapon in a video game...

I personally have many friends who gamble skins, some have lost upwards of £1000, its ridiculous, like gambling in real life..

Well....tbh skins are pointless, at least in the sense of adding more content to the game or increasing your skill, I personally don't think they are worth the "cool" factor... :p

Skins are pretty pointless but people buy them to make the game look pretty and because they enjoy the attention of people saying "ohh hey nice knife" etc

There's also the trading and betting factor which people enjoy as you have to make smart decisions to make profit. I used to do this all the time in TF2 and really enjoyed it so I can see the appeal there

I had 900 dollars in skins and lost it all in under 5 minutes due to coin flips. Never again.
