Lockdown system for hospitals

Brief Summary:

A lockdown system for hospitals

Detailed Suggestion:

Implement a locking system that physically allows the closure of all hospital doors, including main entrances.

When for PR reasons it is necessary to put the hospital in lockdown, the only way so far to try to block access to the hospital was to get in the middle of the main door, but still there were people who either ignored the lockdown, or managed to dodge it (since this way is not effective at all).
With this proposal, doctors and police will be able to put the hospital in lockdown, in such a way that all the doors will be locked, and a more realistic RP of a lockdown situation will be possible.

The Pros:

A more realistic RP scenario for lockdowns

The Cons:

Don't really see any, maybe some inocent people trap inside the lockdown, but that's something that can be solved in RP

Does this suggestion change balance on the server ?

No

I agree with this, in real life, emergency buildings like these can be closed for situations, it will help the loitering rule, its realistic and as Gambas said in the cons, people locked in is solved in-roleplay

+1 coming from an ex cop my pet peeve was annoying little nuggets pushing past 2 Firearms officers because "My friend is inside wah wah wah" when in reality they want to be nosey and get in everyone's way.

I like this suggestion and would possibly encourage gang members to find alternative routes of treating their own rather then going to a government building.

But realistically theres no such thing as a lock down for the hospitals, that would be a danger to patient safety and care which always comes first no matter what the criminal or person of interest has done, its down to the police and the hired G6 security to keep the peace and if the person of interest is a suspect or a judge or someone being protected they should be treated away from the main wards and in a private bay.

The equivalent of a lockdown in a hospital is an alarm and the fire doors closing to contain fires but not locking completely. Personally i dont think police should be just standing at the door of a public hospital and denying any access and blocking it, even for the dumbest of baldies who are just there to see their mates. They should be guarding the person(s) of interest and sorting them out of the way if needs be behind closed doors so the public are not alarmed and can go about their day.

Terrorist threats and what not would be the only reason i can think of to guard the doors of a hospital and deny entry and another reason is if the person is being a public nuisance and loitering but that's just a rule break that gets flooded in red via OOC. Of course im just comparing it to real life, but im not against the lockdown, just think its really not necessary when its a public health building and can easily be contained via RP without the "you shall not pass" mentality of door blocking

Totally agree with this. It is something we struggle with as Police to keep people out of the hospital during a lockdown.

Think this would be a massive help for painful and useless obstruction when whole gangs decide to descend upon an intensive care ward coz there mate got ''ran over'' i believe certain situations would benefit massively from this

+1 Great suggestion, I know this is a massive struggle for police when situations occur in or near the hospitals.

@Nice Guy I see your point, but I don’t think this suggestion is aimed towards when there is one person in the ward that needs protecting, more so when an OCG try and take over the hospital openly carrying weapons including heavy firearms. I suppose I would count that as a terrorist situation, moreover a lot of what the gangs do falls under that bracket but that’s for another discussion on another day.

To come back to the main point, I think this would be an immeasurably useful tool, and much like it is now it wouldn’t stop people gaining access to the care facilities, it would just stop the rest of the population entering. As it stands even on a full lockdown we let injured in to be booked in, often have them dropped at the door by their accomplice then an officer or medic takes them in, or sometimes they’re allowed to take them into the desk, kinda situational that. So in that vein the only difference would be a physical block I.e. a door, other than 2 officers trying to body block everyone and there Nan from trying to get in

+1 as a medic also it can become very difficult to maintain control over the hospital. Having something like this for when we lose that control would help massively. Even as a police officer we find it hard to control people who just want to be nosey and push past firearms officers who are instructing them to leave the area.

I do agree but I feel like there needs to be a rule that people must RP in some way or another if you are going to stand near hospitals, because people just go there to make a hassle for no reason and admins keep having to tell people to stop idling.

There is actually a rule for this, people just decide to ignore it far too often mate and hang around the hospital like you said, for no reason at all.

(G6) Emergency Buildings - Loitering around emergency buildings (Police Stations, Fire Stations and Hospitals) without a valid roleplay story is not allowed.

Also, massive +1 from me, would love to see this.
