So As many have seen and know. when you see a new player AKA a baldy. Most think oh they are going to break a rule and or stab / run us over and cause issues. A lot of people report new players as if they know the rules inside and out and a lot of those reports are actioned per the FBS system. BUT i think we should be a lot more welcoming to these new players. YES fair enough if they go around screaming the N word etc. But if these new players slightly break a rule i think it be best to show them the right way. @ there session ID and let them know. Tell them to flex F5 and read up on some things. Rather than going right for the clipping and reporting of them.

For me if any new player shows anyway of wanting to learn and asking questions I'm more than happy to help. I do not expect them to know anything. The way we say and do things. But i personnaly recently made a new char to RP another avenue and i saw the instant oh its a baldy lets rob or take advantage. I was expected to just know things. Even when i put all my effort into the RP they were more rule playing than anything and bullying the player IC.
A lot can be changed as in the attitude of how we talk and treat new players to keep them in the community for a lot longer. showing them how to do things, show and how to say things in RP. The basics. Welcome them don't rob them. kill or dump them cause you can. That i know for a fact has put many off coming back. Cause i have seen it. Also i have seen many welcome the new players. Tell them everything on how to start off. Where to go and even seen people buy them cheap cars and houses. If someone wants to learn. teach them. and if they break a few minor rules. Let them know. Show them the right way. Everyone messes up.

100% I always try and help new players out! you get the odd one that is here to mess about and cause chaos but I let them be and eventually see them be banned or kicked from the server

With a lot of new players they don't know the "Language" of RP so it can be hard at first but after a week or two they get the idea on what to be calling your pc / the server etc! making them have a little read through the F5 menu helps a lot! telling them about some jobs

I want to see new players here and enjoy what all of us have being playing!

as you said you assume they're going to break rules and only here to do one thing! yes it happens more than we want but not every baldie is like this.... I give my number out to new players in case they need some help? maybe running out of fuel etc! show them around! all the stuff I wish happened to me when I first flew into RPUK!

I know we have the cutscene with the man who has recently done something to you but it would be nice if a little suggestion popped up with a video explaining some things (with a option to skip if need be ) there is a lot of information on the F5 menu and if someone is new to FiveM it most likely will be overwhelming to look through!

but yeah overall it would be nice to see more people helping the new players out!
 
I agree with this, We should treat baldies as 3 month in the server players because unless they are straight here just breaking rules on purpose and you can tell that’s their main objective then we should be helping and treating them all fairly instead of just brushing them off

Quite A lot recently when arresting new people to the city I’ve been giving them not as hefty sentences and then going into the prison to show them just the basics of washing tables and what it does and where to phone to leave the jail.

Also during these arrests baldies accidentally say a few OOC things Ic by accident like keyboard etc and rather then slandering them I just teach them the workarounds

I joined the server to troll people by offering them taxi rides until they got angry and despite my first interaction being getting basically RDMed and dumped, people who made the effort to offer some help or break away from their VRchat clique for a minute to talk reeled me in.

It leaves a sour taste when I see people default to blanking or beefing the lil freshies just because they can.

10000000% agree with this!! Feel like we’re sat here and sometimes we moan about Rp in the server etc….. it all boils down to things like this. It’s a great thing to do to bring new people to the city and welcome them in.

I remember helping a lad once and giving him a car and letting him on his way. A few months down the line someone started shouting my characters name from across the road in RP and I went over and he was driving the very car that I gave to him on his first day 😂 I couldn’t believe it but had a great laugh with him and honestly it would be great to see baldies be welcomed in a lot more.
 
As police, I'm generally more lenient towards new players in all honesty
