Lags while being shot at

Thinking of just going for a 960 since its cheaper. 

We almost positive he gfx card is the cause yeah?

Maybe get a 780TI MSI Twin Frozr 3GB works amazingly, bought this over the 970.

 
I have the EVGA NVIDIA GTX 970 SC and never get any frame drops in combat.

It might be worthwhile waiting for sales and get 970 cheaper or go for a 980.

 
If you're looking into a new Graphics card I'd recommend waiting till the end of November and snatching one on black friday

 
Bought myself a 970 and im still getting these stupid lags when im being shot at.

Anyone else able to help?

 
Sounds like it could a audio issue. 

What sound u using?  USB onboard pci.... 

 
USB onboard? 

Does it plug into a usb socket OR the mainboard onboard audio socket?

Are you using 7.1 surround 

Does this only happen on aluk? 

If everywhere can you test the startup parameter -noSound if it only happens on aluk I would recommend getting in touch with a mentor to go on the server with you if your running without audio for testing purposes. 

You online tonight for a quick chat

Set your sound quality in Windows to 16bit 44100hz.  

If nothing try 

Set sound sources to 16.

Let me know if that currently resolves it, if so we can look at getting it back up.

Plugs into USB. Using Razer Kraken 7.1

Happens on every server

My sound quality is 16bit 44100hz already.

Sound sources will be changed and will give it some try.

Been rolling around with no sound for a few hours here and there and it gets rid of the lag when being shot at.

What now?

 
Sorry for the delay, few things you could try are 

Change the bit rate of your sound device

Drop the amount of sound sources (in arma)

Let me know how those work out

My sound sources are at 16 for the past week or so and I still experience these lags. 

Will change the bitrate when I get home.
