I was arrested by three officers of the law T-Robot, Arc neon and brenda I had two charges of manslaughter to my name. I explained to them that this was in self defence my friend snipes [pT] having been shot by two people I proceded to kill them. I have been in this situation before and have just had to pay a £1 fine. Feel free to check the logs for proof. I then had to give over 100,000 of my hard earned money. This officers were pretty incompetent as well, they did not take away the weapons in my backpack. If I was not part of a group that goes out of its way to not kill cops, they would have been dead in a heartbeat. This situation really annoyed me and I assume I will be corrected and officers can't be nice guys, I just wanted to vent my rage on the forums.

I think those charges are a little dated, for one thing they're in USD not the mighty £ :D

The fine is still only meant to be £15,000.

Oddly, the fine for attempted murder is higher than the fine for actual murder (of cops). It's like you gotta pay more for fucking it up.

There's a consistent sliding scale of charges for attempted assault, actual assault, attempted murder and actual murder (and a higher set of each, when the victim is a cop). Murder will get you jail (not a fine - I keep needing to explain this to the cops - fining you basically wipes away your 'crime' and you only go to jail for 10mins if they do that, with a bail payable after 5 mins at a ridiculously low £1500, I think - if they simply just bung you in jail, in murder cases, you'll go to prison for 15 minutes, and the bounty payable after 5 mins will be half the bounty-price - which is about £50,000 for cops... so that's a £25,000 bail!).

Of course, the cops are at liberty to use discretion - hence sometimes, you'll get off with a £1 fine for an unavoidable manslaughter charge (where some twat ran out in front of your car, for example). Sometimes though, manslaughter caused by negligent driving on your part, will still be fined at top rate, and the officer will look for other things to add to your charge-sheet.

Some officers though, will just try and push the fines up, and see how much of a bitch you are, and whether you'll pay it, abuse him further and give him more rope to fine you with some more, or start refusing and get some jailtime as a result. Cops are allowed to RP- that is part of the game, and they are most definitely not all angels. Obviously, if they get caught, they'll get a rollicking from their superiors, and maybe even busted out of the cops entirely, but those that do engage in that kind of dodgy-ness, generally hide it well. It's part of the game. Play back. Take one of the fuckers hostage and make his mum cry. Lead him down a side-street while another of you blows his car up. Just make sure you do it with some RP, and don't 'power-play' him, and you'll be fine. Anything that isn't just 'fuckdapolicehandsupbangbang' is fine by me...

 
I've always found the fines are directly related to my attitude towards the policemen. I try to be polite, humorous and honest about what I've done and generally they are decent about it. 

100K does seem a bit steep... But hey... Bad boys, bad boys, wotcha gonna do...
