Killing people who killed my gangmate.

Well i got a pretty good idea how this server is being run now atm. We were with a gang of 5 people standing near handgun shop near kavala. A random guy started walking circles around us not using his VoiP. After running in circles a for a minute we told him to stop and he ran off. 4 of my gang followed him into an alley saying he should stop running. In the alley were 2 of his gangmembers fully loaded with lmg's and killed my 4 gangmembers without a single warning or use of voice. They stole all the gear, cars etc and wouldnt come to TS.

Ive talked to an admin about it that they were baiting/badRP/RDM/not using mic. All of the basic rules of the server they broke. But since we didnt have any footage and they refused to go TS they got away with it. Gives me a pretty good idea how people destroy the server.

Admin did say they would keep an eye on the Gang. Gang that attacked us was named [TRB]

As always we need proof of anyone breaking rules and we have quite a robust reporting system here. Sorry to hear you have had this experience and I hope that when they are caught (they always are) they will get the ban they deserve.

Don't brush the whole server with the same stroke. Clearly that player wasn't looking for a role play standard, however by the looks of it your gang could have played smarter and not issued threats etc and instead just followed asking him to stop, trying to create conversation etc. If they then went around the corner and got killed without having any verbal contact it would be RDM. Even in the scenario you described it sounds like RDM As long as they hadn't shot that is. 

Not all gangs play to kill, such as the marmite miners.

Rule breakers are often caught by staff or by reports. said gang that you named (I personally wouldn't have named them as it can cause drama) will get caught out of they carry on with that play style.

Seriously, if you are going to play Altis life on a heavy rule based server, you absolutely MUST record your game sessions for your own protection. As this thread highlights, people have many different interpretations of the rules and even if you're 100% in the right, false / misguided accusations are going to come your way sooner or later. You need to have a way to defend yourself with video evidence.   On the flip side, for examples like the one you've given, video evidence would have gotten those kids in a lot of hot water and if they weren't banned, it would at least deter them from pulling that sort of thing off again.

What you did was not acceptable by this standard. There was no "quality roleplay" between you and the other party. At the same time,

 threatened to shoot anyone who would approach them

Is ultimately preventing "quality RP" from occurring. This could potentially be seen as initiating on anyone with the intent to approach them, and thus justifying your actions.

 you must be 100% sure in your mind that that person and anyone near them know why they have been shot.

I definitely agree with this and this is the statement I use to explain what it means to justifiably kill someone, but wouldn't the "why" be that they've just threatened everyone in the area? If you're to make such an open threat and ultimately stop anyone from coming up and RPing the situation out with you, wouldn't it only be right to expect that a person who has the intent to approach (and is thus threatened) would be able to retaliate?

This statement is the only thing I could see being a game changer and clarification from @Vladic Kawould be appreciated.
