I wanted to share a few thoughts before we dive into the story. This whole project started from a sudden spark of inspiration. I didn’t plan it, but once I started, I found myself really enjoying it.

It's been amazing to see how much you’ve enjoyed it too. This scenario was made for the police, and your engagement has been a huge motivation for me. Even though the main storyline wasn’t fully preplanned, I had a direction in mind. The path, however, was defined mostly by you and less by me. I often felt more like a storyteller while you were the players, and that was amazing.

New characters were introduced along the way, adding depth and complexity to the narrative. Their interactions with the main storyline brought unexpected twists and turns that enriched the overall experience and even I didn't expected it.

Being updated on your reactions (ooc) helped keep me motivated. This whole scenario took almost a month from start to finish, yet there are still parts untold.

And just like in those games where choices matter, you unknowingly chose how it should have ended. I had three other possible outcomes planned just in case. Your participation has made this journey unique. Thanks for being a part of it. Some of them are @Kate Anderson @Andrew Wyatt (with the fear of tagging wrong people I will name their discord names) Willis, MrTurdTastic, Naffen, Dean Hastings) - and probably all the officers involved which I didnt even realised I had involved in this

And now... to the Story..
(The story will be told in the narrative it ended up being.)

This all began when Jack, inspired by his love for poetry, decided it was time to stop. He yearned to end his dreadful path of torment and murder, but he was determined to do it on his own terms. With the Joker's crest as his emblem, he began writing poems.

The first meaningful drop occurred on May 28th. This drop was intended to set the stage for what was to come, establishing the crest as a symbol of validity. Alongside it were two unidentified bodies and three poignant notes, each bearing cryptic messages hinting at Jack's deep remorse and his quest for redemption.

These notes expressed his acknowledgment of past atrocities and his resolve to seek a path of healing and penance. Law enforcement, upon discovering these messages, faced a challenge in deciphering their meaning and understanding the context behind Jack's troubled past.

The second drop came on June 1st, escalating the gruesome narrative. This time, Jack left a dismembered body: one torso, two arms, two legs, one head, and ten fingers. The remains were accompanied by notes written on a postcard from Grapeseed.

The notes reiterated Jack’s struggle with guilt and his longing for redemption:

Jack’s words painted a vivid picture of his inner torment: “Blood on my hands, I've had enough. The path of death, it’s cold and rough. Each face I see, each scream I hear, a prison built of guilt and fear.” His poetry revealed a man haunted by his past, desperate to break free from his cycle of violence.

“No more the knife, no more the hate, I crave redemption, change my fate. To cleanse the stains, to heal the scar, I seek the light, a distant star.” Jack’s plea for redemption was evident, yet his actions showed a man still ensnared by his dark impulses.

“From shadows deep, I rise, I plea, a murderer no more—set me free.” Jack’s final message in this drop was a haunting cry for liberation from his own nightmares. Despite his heinous acts, there was a palpable sense of a soul yearning for change, making his story all the more complex and tragic.

Later on the same day, more drops were made. This time, a chilling interaction occurred when a bag was handed to an officer on the road:

Inside the bag, a full poem pointed ominously to the lighthouse in Grapeseed.

Accompanying the poem was a photo of the lighthouse, further solidifying the location’s significance in Jack’s narrative:

This poem, more detailed and haunting than the previous ones, illustrated Jack’s continuous struggle with his dark deeds and his desperate plea for redemption. The lighthouse, a symbol of hope and guidance, was juxtaposed with his acts of violence, creating a stark contrast that encapsulated Jack's tortured psyche. The police, now deeply entangled in Jack’s game, faced the daunting task of piecing together his cryptic clues to prevent further bloodshed and perhaps understand the man behind the murders.

Once at the lighthouse, the police found a blood-soaked bag waiting for them. Inside, they discovered the first real clues: a note that said, "I am sorry Jack," an ID card, and a blood-stained knife. The meaning of these items wasn't immediately clear, but they were a crucial breakthrough, offering the first solid link to the mysterious killer and his dark motivations. Yet, this discovery also raised more questions. It was the first time they encountered the name Jack, leaving them to wonder who Jack was. At that point, they likely assumed Jack was the victim.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Later that same day, yet another bag was handed over to a group of police officers. This particular bag was meant to contain critical information that could have shed more light on Jack's motives and identity. However, it appears that this bag never made it into the official investigation records. Whether it was lost, misplaced, or deliberately intercepted remains a mystery. As a result, the vital clues it held never contributed to the unfolding narrative, leaving a gap in the story that might have provided key insights.

Some photos of what could have been but was missed:

Due to the risks involved and nearly being caught twice while attempting to deliver further clues, Jack decided on a different approach. This time, he sought to arrange an anonymous phone call to direct CID to a specific location where crucial evidence awaited retrieval. To facilitate this, Jack left one of his final drops(so he thought) at the MRPD, accompanied by a note requesting it on Tweedle.

The interaction with the CID didn't go as planned, as they misunderstood Jack's intentions and attempted to assert control over his carefully orchestrated game. Unwilling to be outplayed, Jack responded with renewed determination, albeit in a more passive-aggressive manner, urging them once again to cooperate.

However, instead of cooperation, the CID retaliated by posting a Tweedle about the individual on the green bike seen during the previous drop. This action marked a pivotal turning point where choices began to influence and alter the course of events. The person on the green bike now posed a significant risk to Jack's plans.

In a final attempt to secure the necessary phone number for the anonymous call, Jack persisted. The ongoing back-and-forth with law enforcement left him increasingly frustrated and hesitant, prompting a shift in his demeanor towards a more confrontational and assertive stance.

But he finally got a phone number.

Jack decided to revisit the memory lane and recall his first murder—the one that started it all.
The call was scheduled for a pickup near the lumber yard, marking Jack's initial direct communication with CID officers. The drop-off was meticulously prepared, awaiting retrieval. Jack was not surprised when CID arrived in full force, including NPAS to secure the next set of clues. While Jack understood the necessity of their caution, he felt compelled to emphasize that trust was paramount to moving forward, and such displays of force did not foster the trust he sought. He reiterated his willingness to surrender but insisted it must be on his own terms.

The note discovered at the lumber yard read:
"In the thrill of the first, pleasure reigns supreme,
An odd satisfaction, like a haunting dream.
The blade gleams in moonlight, Jack's will my demand,
Forced my hand, yet no remorse, in shadows I stand."

Accompanying the note were seven old photographs depicting Jack in the act of killing his first victim.

Since communication largely flowed in one direction, Jack relied on public postings to ensure his plans progressed smoothly. On this occasion, he requested the word "night" be posted on Tweedle.
which was later confirmed:

Once confirmation was secured, Jack decided to shift the spotlight onto CID. Despite the earlier exchanges regarding the phone number, he aimed to demonstrate his commitment to moving forward with them. He offered a rare opportunity: they could ask him one question of their choosing.

Their question: "Who are you?"

This choice angered Jack, as he believed he had already indirectly answered it. He had included information in a bag given to a group of police officers the previous day, unaware that the bag had not reached its intended destination.

A couple of days passed without any word from Jack until a mysterious phone call broke the silence. This time, it came in the form of another riddle:

"In a place where water once freely flowed,
Now dry and barren, no life to show.
Near the parched ground, where fish would swim,
Seek the house that keeps things trim."

Jack intended this clue to lead to the Dam. However, CID took their time deciphering it. Frustrated by the delay and disappointed by the slow progress, Jack called CID again, this time with a different tone.

"Ah, yes, by the dam, where the colossal tubes guard their deepest secrets, stands that elusive abode. But of course, pinpointing it would require a magnifying glass and a compass, wouldn't it?"

Upon arriving at the location, CID discovered a note with the cryptic code: ZvURFjOHUJU. After numerous attempts to decipher its meaning, Jack decided to give them a nudge in the right direction once again.

This video opened up a lot of possible locations.

While driving on the highway, it was interesting to see CID in their Baller searching for the location depicted in the video. They finally found the spot, which was ablaze, and there they discovered seven photographs along with a note saying "LIGHT":

photo 1: https://i.gyazo.com/ba72c2e3aaf019fab7f47e47575bc313.jpg

photo 7: https://i.gyazo.com/b8efaac7335a0a5049f824d4f26ef81e.png

These photos added another layer of mystery and pushed CID further down the twisted path laid out by Jack.

For Jack, this was the moment when the gentleman in green got an invitation, his art in expressing himself through the flames of pyromancy. Innocent people were reduced to ash in a fiery inferno, their screams a haunting symphony. This wasn't just about fire; it was about the charred remnants of lives caught in the blaze.

The second location marked the grim end for the gentleman in green. From Jack's perspective, this tragic outcome was a direct result of CID's relentless pursuit. Their constant exposure of the gentleman left Jack with no choice; he had to be removed to maintain the integrity of Jack's grand design. Once exposed and known by CID, there's only one way out in Jack's twisted world – a final, irreversible exit from this life. This act wasn't just a necessity but a statement, underscoring the price of exposure and the lengths Jack would go to protect his carefully crafted narrative.

At the site where police expected to find his lifeless body, they discovered instead three haunting photos of him lying there. Among the evidence was a copy of the tweet that exposed him, accompanied by a note that read, "Jack, the CID made me do it." Alongside these unsettling discoveries was another note simply stating "HOUSE," further adding to the mystery and guiding CID towards the next piece of the puzzle.

Joining both odd notes from both locations, one would read "LIGHTHOUSE."

Waiting for them at the lighthouse were two poignant photos. One depicted the severed ends of his past actions, symbolizing Jack's resolve to confront and erase the remnants of the gentleman in green, who sadly needed to be removed. It resonated with themes of decisive action driven by the cryptic guidance he attributed to "Voices and Jack," entities that seemed to dictate his path.

The second photo, in response to the recent inquiry about his identity, painted a portrait of Jack as a tormented soul grappling with despair and seeking reconciliation. It portrayed him as a prisoner of his own shadow, entangled in the consequences of his past deeds, yet yearning for forgiveness and the elusive promise of lasting peace.

Together, these messages provided a glimpse into Jack's complex psyche and the conflicting forces that shaped his actions: the compulsion to act decisively, even at the cost of others, and the deep-seated desire for absolution and closure.

It was a pivotal moment when Jack, the elusive figure orchestrating the intricate tale of mystery and intrigue, decided to reverse roles and confront CID with a question of his own:

- Good evening, Detective. Last time, it was you who probed with questions. Now, it is my turn.
- Think carefully, for you have but one chance to choose.
- Your answer will decide what fate you’ll pursue.
- If you've caught every hint, the answer lies within reach.
- When I ask, you'll have 24 hours to speak.
- Are you ready for the question?
- Who is Jack?

Who could have been Jack?
- You said, Jack was me and a personality inside my head.
- Jack could have been the guy in black with the red mask.
- Jack could have been the victim
- Jack could have been someone else

4 possible answers to the very same question. Each answer would made its own ending.

When Jack thought he had the upper hand, another character joined this story...
Dean, a figure from Jack's past, is back with a vendetta. After Jack's betrayal left him scarred, Dean is on a mission to dismantle Jack's life piece by piece. His goal? To ensure Jack's existence becomes a living nightmare, even if it means turning into a snitch. Dean's sole purpose was to make Jack suffer...and so he did.

Dean hid in the shadows, watching Jack closely. He snapped pictures of Jack fishing with a friend, not suspecting that danger lurked nearby. The scene looked calm, but underneath, tension built like a coiled spring.

Suddenly, a phone call changed everything. Jack's face twisted into something dark, and in an instant, he turned on his companion. Dean's camera clicked rapidly, capturing the shocking moment as Jack attacked.

The water, once peaceful, now stirred violently as Jack got rid of his friend. Dean quickly switched to video, recording the grim scene as the friend struggled beneath the waves. Just then, a shark appeared, drawn by the blood in the water, ready to feast.

As Jack slipped away, Dean kept filming, documenting the last moments of the companion's life. With each shot, Dean felt a sense of satisfaction, knowing that these images could expose Jack’s dark secret.

But Dean wasn’t satisfied with just witnessing this grisly act. He wanted to make sure the world knew who Jack really was. Driven by his obsession with riddles and revenge, Dean decided to leave a clear path for the police to follow. He pointed an accusatory finger, almost comically exaggerated with a large arrow, directing them straight to Jack’s true identity. This time, there would be no ambiguity—Dean crafted an easy riddle, a simple captcha for the police to solve, so they couldn’t possibly miss it.

With a smirk, he prepared to send the clues, confident that this would finally lead to Jack’s downfall. No more shadows or half-measures; this was Dean’s moment to expose Jack, and he was going to enjoy every second of it.

Acting on this, CID swiftly raided Jack's car, they discovered some of Jack's most prized possessions—relics that held deep significance to him. Among these items were unsettling messages, cryptic in nature, that seemed to come from what Jack referred to as his "superiors."

Some notes were:
- "Dropoff: Lighthouse"
- "Here is a reward for you: 7"
- "Do as you are told"
a photo: https://i.gyazo.com/eada64c2556938ba2fe01d9647648a4a.png
- "Why, Jack, why have you done this? You are no longer of any use."
- "Jack, I would look over your shoulder from now on"
- "Action incoming Jack - Love Dean the bean"

Jack knew the raid was orchestrated by Dean—it had to be. He understood Dean well enough to recognize that something must have triggered this move. Dean was wounded, but Jack never imagined that his old enemy, the police, would become the very allies Dean sought in his quest for revenge. Now, with the walls closing in, Jack realized he needed a plan, and he needed it fast.

Jack understood that the police had no solid leads—just a license plate, a phone number, and now a name: Jack Thorncroft. But that name could belong to anyone, and Jack knew he could blend in with the crowd. His plan was to stretch the police's attention thin, diverting their focus so he could buy himself some time.

Knowing the authorities were desperate for a name, Jack took action. He forged around 150 ID cards bearing his name and scattered them throughout the city. He targeted hotspots: Pillbox, mechanic shops, 24/7 convenience stores, gas stations, churches, and gang territories. Each location offered a new chance for confusion, ensuring that Jack Thorncroft could be anyone and everyone—an elusive ghost in a city full of shadows.

As Jack watched the news reports of people getting arrested for potential murder charges, he couldn’t help but feel a twisted sense of satisfaction. His plan was working—distraction had taken hold, and the police were scrambling to piece together the puzzle he’d crafted. With their focus divided, Jack seized the opportunity to vanish, slipping away from the city that had become a cage.

There were more plans in place.. but..
(sadly duo to some (possible) borderline metagaming and some stuff going on irl this took a hard stop)

I really rated this storyline Bobbinz and it was a pleasure and at times downright frustrating to be a part of.

Bravo sir! And thank you for the time and effort you put into it.

Was such fun to be apart of, its unfortunate it had to be cut short but the days of us all going looking for you definitely brought CID together in a way i havent seen before, thank you for it all!

I enjoyed being a part of this. A lot of effort went into making it which makes how it ended even more of a shame.

I still haven't forgiven you for making me sneak into the Occult camp!
