Hot wiring vehicles

If you are carrying passengers in a vehicle and you get out of the vehicle passengers have the option to be able to change seats one being the drivers seat which they can start your engine and drive off with your vehicle. To me it isn't realistic to just change seats in a vehicle and drive off unless you have a key or hot wire it so ......

 if you change your position to the drivers seat the only other way to start the vehicle could be if you have a lock pick on you and lock pick the car inside which would act as hot wiring the car or if you can bring in a hot wiring system to start the vehicle. I think lock picking it inside would be a good idea because it can be difficult at times trying to lock pick a vehicle outside and in real life It isn't that easy to just hot wire and car so the whole idea is to make it more difficult to rob the vehicle.  The lock picking method for inside would be great because it would delay someone for robbing a vehicle because you couldn't just lock pick the car and instantly start it straight away. 

(So you have to lock pick the vehicle outside and also inside or bring in a hot wiring system for inside the vehicle so you can start it up )

I kinda think its down to the driver in this situation, if they've allowed someone to enter their vehicle who's intent on stealing it then its down to them and there is no need for additional difficulty mechanics to be added. Either they've broken into the car with a lockpick or managed to sneakily get in the car or tricked you into allowing them in, in both these cases a challenge already exists. -1

so what your saying is basically don't let anyone in your vehicle ? 

How am i supposed to know if someone is going to steal my vehicle , they aren't verbally going to tell me they are planning on steeling my vehicle so then i don't let anyone in. If i have a bunch of friends in my vehicle who suddenly decide they want to steal my vehicle they can literally jump in the drivers seat and off they go without any keys. I think you are missing my point in reality you couldn't just hop in the drivers seat without no keys and no hot wiring and suddenly you can start the vehicle. You'd either need a key or hot wire the vehicle to get it started and the owner has the keys at all times in game so the only option would be hot wiring. 

i could lock them in the vehicle but then they would have to take their seat belt off and crash the vehicle into a solid object which would eject them from the vehicle. Would you do that in real life NO.
