HELP!!!!

Location
UK
Hello, I've recently switched from console to PC gaming. This is due, mainly, to realising that the games I most wanted to play were on PC and i'd wait for them to be bounced on to console, Day Z and PUBG to name just a couple. Anyway I am finding the transition is full of questions..for example, how do I work teamspeak?? Can I speak on normal voice chat on a Roleplay.co server? I'll work the rest out i'm sure but communication is the key!!

I struggled with this when I got a PC too man, I think everyone did. Here let me explain, it's quite complicated so I'll put it into steps.

1. Download Teamspeak

2. Connect to ts.roleplay.co.uk

3. Paypal Romly £3,999

4. Enjoy

Arma voice chat is used for the server, but teamspeak can be used for out of character communication. It’s pretty simple to use, double clicking a channel switches to it and double clicking a user opens text chat with them. There’s also channel text chat which can only be seen by people in the channel at the time you sent the message.
To connect, type ts.roleplay.co.uk into the Connections -> Connect window

NIce one. I just tried it and its saying that I have insufficient identity level....wtf??

Ok so if I can talk in normal chat on the servers what channel should I be on??

insufficient identity level
this will happen as you are new.
just level up to the required level, it may take some time.

there is no specific channel you ever need to be in. You don't even need to be on teamspeak as a civ, unless you want staff support (join for support channel) or to have a talk with other players in the case of breaking rules, etc. Usually in gang liason channels but can really be anywhere.

The "insufficient security level" is unfortunately to make it more difficult for those who we have to keep away from returning, there's no easy way other than to just hit the improve level button and wait it out,

Once you're on, you'll find a plethora of channels to choose from, if you scroll down a tad, you'll find a list of public rooms for various different areas of the UK, anybody is welcome in these channels. If you find yourself wanting to join a gang, you may find yourself using the gang channels below the public area, "official" RPUK gangs can have their own channels created here.

Below the gang channels you'll find the faction channels, NHS, then police, then poseidon. All of these channels are inaccessible unless you're a part of that specific faction.

Ultimately, whilst the teamspeak is huge (currently 653 channels), it's all spaced out and labelled so you shouldn't find it too hard to find your way around. And if you are stuck? Well, there's a channel right at the top "Join for Support" -- Does exactly what it says on the tin, double click and join that channel and await a member of the staff team, we'd be happy to help.

We also have a discord! discord.gg/roleplay -- We don't make much use of the voice-chat capabilities that Discord offers though you will find plenty of text channels.

Hope that's helped a little bit, let me know if you need any further help!

Enjoy the Altis Life.

Thanks, I did manage to connect but then realised...what now. 🙂 Ok so i'd rather use normal arma chat anyway, what channel should I be on. Direct? Global?

You're welcome! When you're ingame you'll want to use Direct communication to speak. Press the fullstop key to switch channel & use CapsLock to speak through your microphone.

There's also an OOC (Out Of Character) channel that you can text chat in, though all messages in this channel are obviously treated out of character.
