Helicopter DLC Incoming

No doubt it will break our server until Ciaran has amended a few things as a few things have changed.

Not excited right now until thats been sorted

 
Should we roll with the new arma update when it comes, or turn off auto update?

I'm going to be very gutted if i cant join the server due to an update

Wilco, in terms of the restrictions of vehicle lifting and firing from vehicles, whats happening?

I believe an admin posted some weeks back saying it'll most likely be removed within a day due to abuse.

That would be me. We discussed it months ago when we heard about it and instead of stringing people along until it came out and then crushing their hopes I outright said it will undoubtedly be removed due to abuse within the first day.

For reference recall the rocket barrages the first day the very expensive jets were added to the server. Sadly people can't be trusted.

I wouldn't update, if you look on the steam forums people are having issues.

Would it be possible to keep this based on classes, such as allowing it for the white listed rebels or cops?  I feel that would be an interesting dynamic and hopefully these are people that can be trusted to not abuse it.

Trusted? Cops went ahead and use a ghost hawk on ground targets, just scrapped my hellcat with the reason being a raspberry blown over VON and have scrapped truck boxers full of salt for simply being in the red zone. Why you feel as though cops should be trusted, I do not know..

 
I've just witnessed while watching other servers on twitch a chinook swoop in during a fire fight and pick up a police car XD also seen a helicopter tow a truck with the 50cal being fired while in tow. This is going to be abused for sure. Just think go and load up a box hemmt and then tow it to the dealer hah

I was in editor earlier and could not, for the life of me manage to get HEMMT box attached. Are you sure this wasn't one of the mods?

I was only able to pick up a boat, which was fun but not viable on Altis Life UK
