Hayes Auto Shop
Origins
Hayes Auto Shop was initially just a vague idea amongst some friends, who had met while managing a different mechanic shop. After taking a long break from working as mechanics, the three friends decided it was time to start building something of their own. Marcus, Felix, and Drondisk spent a solid month getting advice, working up a substantial amount of funding and finding a viable location for their new mechanics shop; many different names and locations were discussed before deciding upon the name and location we know today as Hayes Auto Shop, across from the Vinewood Pawnshop.
Having worked in the mechanics business for quite some time, the three quickly collected old friends together as staff, some who had gone on to other things and some who had rarely been seen in the city. This core group of friends became the beating heart of Hayes and its their continued support, work and presence that will spur Hayes onto bigger and better. We decided that marketing was such an important aspect that we contacted a good friend of ours who offered to do it for free, what a push over! (joking @Queen_Bean4 )
Grand Opening
Hayes "opened its doors", so to speak, on 25th May 2024 with its Grand Opening event, held behind the building they wished to renovate. The event spanned two hours showing off the first proper full services and MOTs, with Up-N-Atom providing food and Gruppe Sechs providing security; the turnout was much more than we had expected and the community support shown by the people who came down was truly heart-warming. People were curious and excited to see a new mechanic shop opening up in the city, especially in an area with not a vast amount drawing people in.
The Grand Opening event was also a test, to understand the area we would be working for next few months and to work out any issues before we made any solid decision. Initially, a customer would have come to the Hayes Building and been brought into the spacious alley behind for their service, however, the optics of that were not the best; therefore, after some trial and error, we settled upon servicing cars right outside the shop front (arguably more dangerous for us but we couldn't beat the look of the shop front)
How it is going
Hayes has been open for a month and a half, and like any business, we have had our ups and our downs. However, the insane amount of support that Hayes has garnered from the community, from people coming down for services to the people giving us advice and help if and when we need it, it is truly the most motivating thing for any of us here at Hayes Auto Shop.
In our time being open, we have completed MOTs for the NHS (Thank you @Kyle Kamara ), fully serviced super cars almost as fast as the customer could run and get another one (Mad man @Ethan Price ), stopped a random old man from stealing catalytic converters, entered the planning stage for our first major event and MUCH MORE
So this is our start, and hopefully we will see you along for the ride!
