Graphics Card Recommendations?

Does anyone know a good enough graphics card that isn't too expensive and is good enough to play a full 100 player altis life on atleast standard settings with about 50+ FPS?

To be honest, Arma is about CPU, RAM and GPU all together, and not only one part, but it's rumored that there is an GTX 960 on the way, which should be pretty good, and taken the price on it's big brothers it's probably gonna be on the same price point as the current GTX 760.

But if you cant afford that an GTX 750ti should be pretty decent, or maybe look into AMD, im not so good on that side, but an r7 260x or r9 270 should be around the same perfomance i believe. don't quote me though :)

Meng you just missed out on Cyber Monday, R9 290 was at like £200 and the 280 was at like £120-£140

Iv got Nvidia 770 overclocked, screen res i play on is 3840x2160, i get around 60-70 fps

GTX 760Ti Direct CUI 2. Graphics cards aren't usually the problem, a little 650 will do for most needs. You're REAL problem is your processor, make sure you sink more money into that.

I got radeon HD 6870 1GB, an overclocked cpu i7 3770k 4.4Ghz, 8GB 1600Mhz RAM and I get 30+ FPS when playing on very high settings when server is full 100/100. So before overclocking I was having 15-25 FPS. Overclock made a difference so if you can do afford it just do it...

Aye, can agree on getting my moneys worth from my 780s. Did feel a bit betrayed when nvidia released the 780 ti's not long afterwards.

That won't happen this time I'm reliably informed as the 980 is a full chip unlike the 780 was, however the 970s and 980s are having issues at the moment in some games (including Arma 3) where the utilization is down to stupidly low numbers. My pair of 980 Asus Strix cards are running at such low utilization (25% or less) that they drop back down into passive mode.

dude it really all depends on your budget, tell how much is the maximum you want to spend then we can give you accurate info, otherwise we're all guessing as to how much and what card fits in the price range.

Acutally dude thats incorrect, the 980Ti is due for release this week or next week. And it is supposedly ~50% more powerful than the standard 980.

"A person identified as Jon Sutton of Game-Debate reported some interesting specs about GTX 980 Ti, and one of the noteworthy things he has mentioned is that it would be 50% faster than the fastest available GPU in the market today.

Sutton commented, "That's some serious power under the hood, but where does it all come from? Firstly, the GM200 GPU will be on a 551mm2 die, with an estimated 20-22 Streaming Multiprocessors Maxwell (SMM) giving a total of between 2560 and 2816 CUDA cores. This will all be on a 384-bit memory bus, up from the 256-bit bus seen on the GeForce GTX 980 and the GeForce GTX 970.""

This rumor has been going around since September and it hasn't been reported on by any serious tech blog. I have no doubt that there will be a new Titan card, but I don't see a 980 Ti being released this week or next even remotely plausible, especially considering the 780 Ti brought massive bad blood to nvidia last time and that was 4 months after the 780s launch. The 980s launched only 2 months ago if that.

The only legit press I've seen on the GM200 is that it's more than 2 quarters out from now and will be a workstation card firstly and then possibly a Titan 2 (this is how the Titan came to pass the first time). Only then would there be a space for a 980 Ti, but time will tell.

I'll be sure to check back into this thread in 2 weeks if there is a 980 Ti available and I'll ask you for your paypal details to buy you a beer if I'm wrong :)
