GPU Help

Yep the 1060 is pretty good, gigabyte are a pretty reputable manufacturer of components. It has 3x the memory of your current GPU, better architecture, likely faster and higher core count. It will be a good upgrade.

I think in the nvidia control panel you can set it to be a dedicated physx card, it would mean in games using physx those calculations would be passed to the other card, leaving the main GPU free to work more on graphical processing. In theory, better FPS. Handy to do until you find someone to sell it to, or leave it on a shelf.

Actually im going to increase my budget to 400 maximum, would you recomend this card or another one, and would it be alot better than the 1060 considering its double the price http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/gigabyte-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1070-oc-8gb-wf2-pci-e-graphics-card-gv-n1070wf2oc-8gd/version.asp?refsource=Ldadwords&gclid=CjwKEAiAs_PCBRD5nIun9cyu01kSJAA-WD-rII4VqyBI13TXjnj9iHvHVIWGYn9-KWpjYBArX1XGNxoCqb3w_wcB

yep the 1070 will be better than the 1060. at 1080p you probably wont notice any difference but it'll cope better at higher resolutions.

The 1070 will still be a good upgrade as it'll raise the celing on your graphical processing limit so you can play more games on ultra. alternative look into getting yourself a high-res monitor like a 1440p or 4k for higher res, or a 144hz screen for higher framerates.

Is there any need to pay like 40 quid more for a 1070 g1?

And should i get Gigabyte or another brand?

Brand largely doesnt matter. Gigabyte are a reputable brand, as are MSI, EVGA, ASUS, etc.
Sorry i just have one final question, just because i dont want to spend that much money and be let down, im not great with IT so could you see if the motherboard and graphics card are compatible?
