FoodMapp - A Restaurant Guide (M)App

Hi everyone,

I've been thinking about a way to enhance our server's dining scene even more with the recent food updates and came up with an idea for a new feature called "FoodMapp."
This would be a mobile app that allows people to connect more easily with local restaurants.

Here's what FoodMapp could look like:

  1. See Who's Open: The app would show whether restaurants are open or closed in real-time, based on whether staff are clocked in.
  2. Quick Contact: Each restaurant listing could include a direct phone number for the owner, making it easier to get in touch for inquiries or orders.
  3. Set GPS: Whether you’re looking to visit your favorite spot or explore a new one, the app could help guide you there with GPS.
  4. Menu Browsing: Restaurant owners could upload their menus to the app, so you can check out what’s available before you go or even while you’re deciding where to eat.
Some of the Pro's I can think of is simplified communication, making it easier to get in touch with restaurant owners and opening up more natural ways for 'food takeaway' RP or placing a tall order, for example.
Making restaurant locations and their menus more accessible might also encourage people to try out different places, as well as encourage and motivate owners to maintain active, staffed restaurants to attract more customers via the app.

Obviously creating the app would be a significant project and would take up Dev time and resources. I'm by no means a developer, but it's important to recognize the amount of effort that goes into things like this.

I want to emphasize that this is just a fun idea I think could complement the awesome food updates we've recently enjoyed.
Given the significant time and effort this would require, especially right after this big food update, I believe this should by no means be a main priority but rather something cool to perhaps consider for the future. =)

As always though, feel free to give your own opinions!

Would help indicate where people are actually present as well.
Add a tab for bars and I'm in ;)

+1000000 This is unreal stuff and thinking Leroy it really is!!! As mentioned I imagine a lot of dev work but would be something quite unique and would mean that if a business is ‘open’ they go to the top of that list encouraging RP. I really like the way you mention ‘clock in system’ as I feel like the 2 would go well hand in hand 😉😝.

No but on a serious note this is a really top idea and would add to the whole bunch of ideas for enhancing RP even further. Once again tho feel like it is a lot of work and I respect the amount of work that has been put into the update so far 👏

Bob, Mark and other devs additions have been unreal so far and excited to see what happens.

Honestly, If it was the option to turn the full till off I would not mind at all. It would hurt these passive incomers and min/max food buying purely for the power up people (feel like Joe Scrub :ROFLMAO:) But would benefit the Role-players. In terms of the tax itself, in my opinion if its is roleplayed out selling the food etc etc......... Who cares honestly, Profit margins are very slim anyways unless you work in a factory *cough cough* down south of city:LOL:.

No but in all honesty I guess its cool stuff to have a think about but would not be against this idea at all!
 
This is a superb idea. It would really encourage active ownership of the restaurants, and provide more opportunities for owners and staff to lean into the update and get creative.
 
+1 Something like this would be fantastic & could lead to some great RP opportunities for sure!
 
The entire point of the marketplace app is for advertising so people shouldn't be using tweedle for that anyway

Yh I do get this to a point. Surely if there was to be an app tho it would accommodate for advertising like tweedle does? Surely would still be able to post up for events and allow people to make posters make things to advertise. If the app fully accommodates this side to, I agree
