Flight Simulator X Event?

I've seen that there are a few other Aviation enthusiasts in this community, and was wondering if anyone would ever be interested in doing a Flight Simulator X event, maybe some kind of formation flight around the UK or something. Would be nice to have a chill time flying around and having some chats and socializing, it's always nice to see the aviation community come together. :)       Comment below if interested :D

If it is okay with ALUK Administrators for us to host an event like this of course...

 
I know @TinyBigJacko would be one that would be up for this so i will let him know its being talked about.

If you have enough interest and want to create an event we would support it and provide a teamspeak room for that event.

Maybe a London Heathrow to Lemnos (Altis) would be a good theme too!

Sounds great! Love the idea of Heathrow to Lemnos, didn't even think of that.

EDIT: Although, not sure if the Lemnos airport scenery is in FSX, will check in in a bit!

I'm so bad at flight simulators I manage to get the autopilot working but can never land.

Yeah, maybe some of us can organize some flight training.... The being able to stay in the air is the important part for this kind of event.. I guess?

I don't think Vatsim would be very suitable as many people attending won't have very much knowledge in Air Traffic Control regulations and what not, but it's a possibility

I used to be a mentor on a very large simming community teaching real world ATC RT and procedures to students. One training session on our TS beforehand for those interested and they will be fine!

That's an option I guess, but the real question is, do we want to be strict about what we do or would that sort of ruin the fun? It's going to be quite a long time to get from Heathrow to Lemnos, so we would need to have some fun to keep ourselves entertained and what not.

I'm not completely against the Vatsim idea, but for the sake of an event that's being hosted for people to enjoy I think it should be a free flight based session. It's also not only ATC we would need to worry about, it's getting FSX set up for Vatsim as well, which I remember was quite complicated when I first did it.

I wouldn't eliminate the idea, but I personally don't think it would work out.

 
Used to flight sim (until I realised real life is a lot more fun :p) a lot but not too much anymore, would definetly join even better if on vatsim.

I would do this but at the moment my flight simulator x doesn't work with windows 10.

 
I used to fly on IVAO around 5 years ago. I might join even tho I dont really remember how to fly :D

 
Would this be done on the steam version? I only have the older non steam version :(
