favouritism in the Police Force???

I see where everyone is coming from. Before I joined the police, I was in a gang, except, we liked to do a lot of legal work. I've been on the server for quite some time, and no matter if you do legal/illegal activities, you will still be robbed. Now, I use to do iron/copper/diamond runs, unless there is more than 3 of you, there is no way of protecting yourselves from being robbed which is why a rifle is sometimes needed. I have a guideline of my own that I follow on top of the police guidelines which is: if a rebel does an illegal activity and/or tries to inflict harm on a person I will seize the illegal firearm. If a rebel does a legal activity and isn't inflicting harm on anyone or bothering anyone but just simply trying to protect themselves, I will tell just to hide the weapon.

If we seize every weapon we saw, the people who are being nice and doing legal work, are just going to turn into the rebels we see nowadays and just shoot us. We need to try and be friendly, and not make everyone hate us on the island of altis.

If someone has an illegal firearm, but has done nothing wrong, why should we seize it, this just creates tension and hate towards police officers.

See where I am coming from?

That's my explanation representing most of the officers I know.

He gets it, if you want to take my gun every time I will take your black carrier rig every time or your gun every time ? Thats how you create a no RP environment. Idk if "Bias" is the word or smart or a bit of both. They know its us and that they are in no position to do anything about it. Heck sometimes they only come one wave to banks when we do it then give up and go do something else. Try take the weapon and get a threat or leave them and dont.

That should be the case, but sadly it isnt. If UNMC have guns out it wont be taken off them, same with invicta and TCK. I forgot the last time i got stopped and told to put my gun down its normally "alright mate you got a bag for a reason". Cant blame the police through its not their fault.
This is what I mean, Can you not see how unfair it is. Basically if you form/join a big gang you can basically walk around everywhere with a gun on your back without the police doing anything. I see what you guys mean by thinking about the dangers of doing it, however I still think the Police should try and tackle this IMO and as Police officers you should have to take the risk, just like Police officers in real life.

(I also have nothing against the police, I'm sorry if I have offended a few of you guys)

I'm sure a high ranking police officer will correct me if I'm wrong here, but I feel like you're misinterpreting the laws that have been put into place. I feel like they're there to put players in check. Those that can be trusted a bit more (UNMC, certain gangs or players that have established themselves as trustworthy) won't get such harsh punishments for breaking these laws.

In my mind, they're there to protect the new players and make sure that there aren't randoms running rampant in the street with rifles and such.

UNMC always have a reason to have firearms on display (usually for safety after being threatened) however sometimes we forget to put them away and if police politely ask us to put them away we will happily comply.

But if police give us the put your weapons away or be tazed/rubbered then expect to be with similar hostility.

Let's put it this way, if there is a big group walking through a town with 7.62 Rifles out in there hands would you confront them about it? That would be a no, you must also listen to there Roleplay side of things. I was on my own in the middle of nowhere and some hobo jumps out of his box truck and has a gun all he did was check if I was okay etc since there was an upside down police car (cops got killed I was to late -_-) I didn't ask him to drop his gun I just asked him to put it in his truck that way it isn't out in the public eye. No matter what gang it is, it's all about the situation if we see 3 people in a street with mx's out and there are 10+ cops in the area we will do something, If not, we will ask them to put it away no matter who it is, it's all about your character's life. If you do not wish for your guns to be taken do the simple thing and do not walk around kavala with your guns out, you won't be targeted then.

Well , it depends on the situation, you can not say all of the officers in altis do that.

I usually take weapons off, unless I feel threatened (I ask for warning shots of course ) , or I get very creative and good roleplay.

For me it's the opposite, I even sometimes tend to get a bit severe with civilians I know because I have higher expectations.

About the valuing your life, thats not really true unless you feel threatened, and if not you are basically lazy or corrupt.

Well, there sre situations when you as a officer face to multiple armed man with illegal weapons or moments when you can't just approach them asking them to drop their weapons and fine them.

On many occasions people are willing to RP that situation even though they clearly have more man power at that point. If anyone is caught doing anything illegal and possessing a illegal firearm, in that case his weapon is seized straight away.

I believe 99% of officers make no difference between people they know and just random citizens.

Most of the people own and carry illegal firearm on this island, we do everything in our powers to get them off the streets. I see where you coming from, but as almost everyone here said, you gotta value your life in the first place.

I hope you understand better why do we do that.

Kind regards,
