Change the names of guns back some of them are outrageous and so unnecessary

I like the name change of the Machine Pistol but the standard , rev and heavy names are abit peculiar not sure if anyone else agrees just my personal opinion . Guns decaying in your container i also am struggling to understand however if they decay by shooting i think that makes sense.

I like the new gun decaying system but the only thing I don’t agree is them decaying when they are not being used. I understand you want to lower the amount of guns within the server, but there are better ways to combat it.

AFAIK all the new gun names are their IRL counterparts - the revolver is based off the Taurus Raging Bull, not sure what the heavy pistol is named now but I believe its based on the Enterprise 1911 Widebody

The only thing i don't agree with is the guns decaying while sat in a container you have to look at it from a crim (non whitelisted gang member) side that has no connection to any other sort gangs and just buys and sells coke to treat them self to a little M1911 there guns are just going to be breaking and they will have no clue how to or who to talk to when it comes to getting it fixed i feel as if it should go from shooting the gun for it to be damaged but people spend ages grinding for a 200k gun for it to start destroying with out even using the gun

so i would only say the down fall is them decaying when not on you/stored away in a container

and lets be real getting guns you can buy from anyone even if that person is not in a whitelisted gang himself so going to ask him for help is not going to go very far as at the moment i don't think anyone even knows how to clean/fix them

Going off the fingerprint system, I would say maybe it could be made so officers have to do some investigation work to prove that a print belongs to someone. Day 1 and my prints are already linked because an officer said they knew my name and it was my word against theirs. There was no way for me to even talk my way out of that. Agreed, my "blood" was found at a shootout, but that could be old blood from someone else, that could be from a different incident earlier in the day, there's nothing to say that was my blood from that exact incident, but again, it was forced one me & there was no way to talk myself out of it, it was my word against officers.

In terms of the gun decaying, I do agree with others that guns should maybe only decay on usage. Having guns sat in a container that decay when they're not being used seems a little OP. Those that had a good few guns prior to the update are now finding that all of their guns are slowly decaying. This gives us very limited options. Using (casual carrying, which could promote more pocket wipe robbing with little to no RP as more people will be carrying guns on a regular basis) and losing them before they decay or letting them decay in a container and just get rid of them when they're gone. This could also possibly promote more unnecessary gunfights to break out as people are going to want to use their guns before they just decay sitting still in a container. Imo if guns are in a container the decaying should be paused, possibly getting dusty(?) until they are removed from the container and used again.

Good update. Just same as everyone else weapons should only slowly decay when they are used. A lot of these guns take time to get within RP and also money making wise. I for 1 don't go around starting gun fights let alone carry one all the time. Having a weapon on the server feels nice and that you earned it in a way from getting to know the right people and earning money. Its fun and gives you an edgy feeling when you're carrying one where police might catch you or someone might rob you or you have to defend yourself or your turf and even more when you have a 6 maybe 700k+ weapon. Not me but one day. Its a goal and now knowing that kind of high priced weapon will break at some point ruins them goals for me.  Decaying them takes this all away.

Personally i think it is an ideal update as the principle of gun degradation will encourage players to use their initiative instead of just stockpiling a large amount of guns like a squirrel waiting for winter. (or in the servers sake a war to start)

This will hopefully make it so players will actively have to think about if they need a weapon for a task they're going to do and encourage players to be the smarter about their actions in a public setting. Of course a lot of people will disagree with the degradation of firearms in storage but we also need to put into consideration that your average post code gang isn't going to be rocking around with 3 revolvers 2 marksman pistols and a shotgun shooting up the front of the station and acting loud and proud because "Fuk de fedz fam". Hopefully this will encourage more melees and sneaky approaches to gaining the upper hand in an conflict instead of just brute forcing everything with a gun.

In time the meta of the server will change and its unavoidable now.

I don't mind gun durability it's something fresh, new and exciting but like many others my only concern is that they can "rot" away in containers. No issue with them breaking through use just not sat in containers.

Similar findings, people straight away ID'ing you and then giving you a fingerprint - happened to a few of us tonight regardless of whoever we said we were. Where as before if there was a dispute, they would have checked my fingerprints to confirm who I was.

Also leg restraints - it seems a little too easy for people to restrain you, realistically they'd be  used for a kicking PIC and that would take a few officers to apply.  Now it's a simple tap of the 3rd eye and you're restrained. I was restrained 3 times tonight in custody and another crim was restrained 4. Even got to a point where the medic asked for restraints to be removed for checking of legs, and was refused.

I think the guns rotting in a container needs to be changed, it is so demotivating grafting months to then take a few weeks off the server to return to broken guns,  especially if you are not using them. Another thing I noticed is when you use a evidence bag to place say for example a pistol. It now includes the location you bagged the item and who bagged it, personally I have never met someone who would incriminate themselves by putting that information on a bag that contains a gun?  Makes 0 sense. I am all for guns becoming broken over time when being used.

Edit

I think leg restrains needs to be removed it is being abused. Escorting someone is enough police hardly let you walk on your own in cuffs. They love to drag you around putting you threw walls now you have given them leg restraints 😕

we make reports based off fingerprints now, just because you get fingerprinted doesn't mean that we know your name, unless they know if from before, then it's fair game as it was before.

i don't see a report of powergaming in regards to it, if people abuse it, report them instead of wanting it removed instantly.

Personally i think blood shouldn't be as op as it is , you should of had to be previously been linked to that dna for them to link the blood to you, because right now even if you have never been arrested they can link ur blood to you and put a warrant out. Police should have to do the work to build up a database on peoples blood instead of having to just look at the blood and it tells everything about someone. There should be some work put in to be able to link blood to the suspects.

Also with the gun stuff a lot of people are not the biggest fan of the way the gun durability was implemented (To put it lightly) but i do agree that guns should not just disappear after around 3/4 months and should be based on how much you use them meaning there is a reason for people to buy guns again and not just have everyone shooting each other and cops to get rid of their guns.

Afaik this shouldn't be happening.

@ArchieStated in the police meeting that it would be more or less for people being massive trolls, and fucking around. Something along those lines anyway, Im sure he can further add.

Sounds like a bug.

May I also add. If the server is heading for more realism with less guns and more knifes. Then what will it look like when armed police responds with their new guns and if we have to many guns from working and mining for months the SAS shows up or even worse,  the jet. I think the jet should be 100% removed as how can any gang combat a jet. Unless you give the biggest gangs 1 RPG each to balance it cause a JET is over powered and a one sided battle. As others have said i play on the server to get away from reality a bit and have fun yes we have guns but even in gangs and family's we also roleplay everything else. A lot of us are not all about guns its just simply apart of that RP we are doing and it is a game and its finding the balance between that and reality so its fun. Cheers.

> uses helicopter/plane for (possible) terroristic purposes and to shoot in populated areas
> gets surprised when QRA responds to a threat only they can deal with

Police follow the gang meta, so if there begins to be less firearms, less people in police will have firearms, with current state of the server police are evenly(ish) matched in firepower to most bigger gangs, going off our numbers most days

SAS can only be authed by certain people

Regarding DNA,

I'm going to mention the obvious first, that it is the DNA taken from a blood sample which is used to create a persons identity although there are many other means to take DNA from a person.

We are able to take blood samples from a scene which automatically shows a citizen ID when we enter it into the system. However, how this DNA is already found on the system is questionable with stories floating around saying that the border force takes your blood when you fly to the island.

Are we able to make an opposing side to this to save any confusion where police can take swab samples from a person in custody. This is found in UK Police where if you've been detained or arrested, the police have the power to carry out a DNA test swab is taken, this involves a large cotton wool bud being rubbed inside the suspect's cheek to loosen and collect skin cells.

The system can be taken much the same way as fingerprints and added to the citizen ID. Therefore allowing it to be compared against blood samples on the future crime scenes creating more balance to the server where you can't automatically be arrested just because you were injured if you were previously unknown to police.

Consent is preferred when taking DNA from a persons it is not completely necessary and in most cases would be refused. Authorities explain this better such as in page 26 of the Scottish Biometrics Commissioner Code of Practice. However, we can still look at taking further legal action if a person outright refuses adding other avenues to the roleplay.

Overall I really love how this update made things like search reports, fines and other documents physical items. It makes it a lot more immersive as a solicitor actually getting handed physical copies of stuff and getting to keep them physically. It also gives certain groups the ability to steal them which is also a bonus.
