Brief Summary:

add screens to display GIFs/JPGs in shops/fuel stations/restaurants etc.

Detailed Suggestion:

After seeing the new highways signs I thought it would be nice/cool if we could have something similar for our business'.

A lot of shops these days are using TV screens and Monitors to display digital advertising and think it would be awesome to be able to make use of this ourselves.

For fuel stations I would like to see the tall fuel price signs be able to display our actual current prices in big letters and for shops maybe have some screens placed around the shop where they can put their own special offers or promotions. Restaurants and Bars could display menus or again specials on a screen.

The Pros:

Added immersion to the city by being able to see live promotions or products.

The Cons:

May reduce player interactions a little but on the flip side it could increase it by players asking for a specific promotion when the go into a shop.

With regards to fuel stations other than Dev time I can't see any cons.

Does this suggestion change balance on the server?

I can't think of how this might change the balance of the server if all business have acces to such facilities in some way.

Hey, I upvoted voted your suggestion because I think it's cool. But on the other hand I think this would potentially require significant development time and would potentially have negative impact on server resources for minimal gain. The highway sign is cool but it's relatively simple text displayed. This also heavily hinges on shop owners using it, by being on to post the advertisement on their special and if they're on to post it, why can't they just verbally say "Hey we have this special". Again, cool idea but if this requires significant development time to accomplish for minimal benefit outside of "cool factor" then I don't really see the need for it at the moment. Just my long-winded opinion on it.

Dev time it wouldent need much as the system is allready in place with the large posterboards that people can purchase, most should know the one inside AE near the staff area, where you left eye them and you can add a picture URL including GIFs

We know it works with gif when we did a wheel spin from autoshop and it span on the board

What it would need is just to make some smaller ones creating, seeing as the current ones need to be placed by the Devs anyway it wouldent be to much harder

I would add it as a upgrade option in the shop menu that the owners can decide to buy them if it's bought the CoC can come visit and ask where it could be placed as they usually take time to install anyway, and just have it set at a rather high price so that only ships that will use it buy it as to not waste time

I would buy one for bean machine as there is a large TV next to the counter and have it placed on that

Background on where my idea came from.

Initially I saw the new motorway signs and thought that system could maybe be used to display actual fuel prices at the fuel stations on the big price post things, from there I got the idea for displaying the advertising panels in shops and the idea got turned into a generic gif/jpeg advertising position.
