So here I am, three days into my new role, and I thought I'd share with you a few of my thoughts.
Obviously I really enjoy helping keep the servers free from trouble, sometimes I even receive thanks for getting rid of people who are a pain in the arse. Perks of the job. But what worries me more, is the people that should know better. I don't expect much from your average hobo, but larger gangs and established players should be well aware of the rules and what is expected from them. (Sorry for the doom and gloom that follows, stick with it for the positive too)
I would like to draw particular attention to a few rules I worry aren't always followed. Firstly, rule 2D states ALL exploitation is bannable. Just because you died from a glitch does not void the rules. There is no excuse. Do you really want to risk a perm ban for a vest? I hope not. If it was a glitch, maybe try your luck with a comp request?
13B is another rule I suspect is abused. To get gold from the vault to your vehicle, you must walk it outside yourself. One gold bar weighs about 12kg. There is no way a bag full is being 'thrown' anywhere, especially into the hands of someone next to the truck. So again, if you want to keep your gold, carry it outside yourself.
A quick note on NLR - if you have been RDM'd and intend to return to where you died, I would recommend messaging Admins in game! If we only see half the scenario, you get shot then come straight back, understandably we will think its breaking NLR. Misunderstandings will occur, so think first, and message us to minimise your risk.
Finally, the lesser known 17C. While on duty I do my best to remain out of sight (as much as you can in a glowing tron suit), and uninvolved in other peoples business. Sometimes however it isn't easy to teleport inside objects, or to locations that make me 100% invisible (bushes). All I ask is that you please just carry on as you were, and let me carry out my task.
This post should be taken only as a gentle reminder that all rules must be followed, and if they aren't I cannot be blamed for the consequences. I really don't want to ban everyone for every little thing. I would love to spend a night doing nothing because no rules are broken. But I have been trusted to do a job, ultimately for your benefit. So please, save me the trauma of having to ban friends, or people I've got to know over the last year. If I see you do it, no matter who you are, I will have to follow it up.
Finishing on a positive note, 99% of the time spectating on the server really makes me proud. Overall the RP is fantastic, I've spied on situations that have made me laugh out loud, and it really makes me proud to be a part of this community. Just remember, whatever situation you're in, from fun RP to fail RP, even when you're just out walking alone in the woods - perhaps I'm watching, smiling/crying at your adventures.

P.S. Once I've settled into the role, new clips may be headed your way from Altis' brand new CCTV system
