Criminal Job Ideas

Summery:
At the current state of the server I think we can agree that the jobs side of things is a bit messy, most of the player base including law abiding civilians, government officials and even criminals (which doesn't really make sense) are choosing to do legal jobs as it's the current meta to earn money.

Although I know this will be a big task to take on, I am making this suggestion to give some ideas to future or any on going development in this area.

Dark Web App:
  • This will be the foundation of the criminal world.
  • Similar to the racing app, you will need to gain access to the app. This could be given by another player or by the blackmarket NPC (If you're an Officer the NPC will not cooperate with you).
  • You will be able to pair up in a group of 4 players.
Crypto:
  • On the Dark Web App, everything is exchanged in Crypto this would include buying items and bidding on jobs.
  • The more jobs you do successfully the more crypto you earn.
  • You will also be able to transfer crypto to other players, so you can sell crypto to other players in exchange for items or cash.
Ranking System:
  • New criminals will have to start at Level 1.
  • As there will be a ranking system, better jobs, payout and items will unlock the higher level you are.
  • If you are in a group, you will only be able to join the jobs you have unlocked.
Blackmarket:
  • This is a location where players will be able to sell/buy goods.
  • Similar to the dodgy doctor, the blackmarket can change location.
  • The Police would be able to raid and shut the blackmarket down. (This could be for a few days, until a new blackmarket appears)
Jobs:
In the jobs section will find a list of available jobs, you will be able to place a bid on these jobs against other players.
There won't be too many jobs available at once so the police aren't overwhelmed.
After doing a job you will be given a cooldown until your next one.

House Robberies:
This is a starter job to help you earn crypto, and will cost you zero crypto.
  • Once accepting this job you will be given a location of a local/NPC house/apartment to rob.
  • The more items you steal the bigger the payout, you may have to store items in your vehicle and return to the house to get more items.
  • These houses might be equipped with silent alarms , so the longer you stay there, a higher chance of police showing up.
  • After retrieving the stolen items, you will be given a location of the blackmarket. You will be able to sell these items, earning Crypto and XP.
Drug Trafficking:
This job would be unlocked once you have experienced house robberies a few times, maybe at Level 5.
  • Once accepting this job, you will have to wait for a notification to come through which could take up to 10 - 30 minutes.
  • You would be given multiple locations to pick up packages.
  • Throughout picking up these packages the police would be receiving updates of the vehicle description and location.
  • Once you pick up all the packages you will be given a final destination and the police will no longer be receiving any updates.
  • You must loose the police before delivering the packages, if the police are in close proximity you will not be able to deliver them.
  • You will have an hour to successfully drop them off, if not this would mean you got caught or couldn't loose the police in time.
Weapon Trafficking:
This would be the same concept to Drug Trafficking, but will have a better payout.
  • Once accepting this job, you will have to wait for a notification to come through which could take up to 10 - 30 minutes.
  • You would be given multiple locations to pick up weapon crates.
  • Throughout picking up these crates the police would be receiving updates of the vehicle description and location.
  • Once you pick up all the crates you will be given a final destination and the police will no longer be receiving any updates.

Car Boosting:
  • I was looking through the suggestions and found this Car Boosting Suggestion which gave me this concept, I think its very good and could be very enjoyable.
  • I was thinking instead of having a Car Boosting App, we have the one app for multiple criminal jobs.

Player reputation system for drugs

Dealing at the moment doesn’t offer that many outcomes or opportunities for some good role play. It’s also not very realistic that the most effective way to do it is to approach a line of cars and offer drugs through the window. The goal of most career drug dealers is to build enough contacts and reputation to be able to start selling large quantities of product rather than a few bags at a time on the street corner.

There are levels for mining, taxi drivers and even fruit picking with incentives to try and reach max but with dealing a brand new player to the server can start selling with the exact same efficiency as someone who has been selling for ages. My idea is to have a ‘reputation level’ in the skills category that slowly builds as you deal to locals. These levels eventually grant players access to set up increasingly larger drug deals that require organisation, knowledge of the city and collaboration between players. These deals also come with a greater risk of being caught, ripped off or robbed. Various factors could also negatively affect your reputation such as failing to complete deals and getting arrested.

Level 1

Current system with a very small increase in money per sale or chance a local will accept. 50% chance the sale increases your rep by a small amount

Level 2

Ability to use pay phones to access a ‘trap line’ and request a contact from ‘the plug’. (An example of how this could work is shown in the attached video). These deals have a chance to pay a small to medium amount of ‘wads of cash’. There is also a 30% chance your contact notifies the police about where the deal is taking place. Once you initiate the deal with the buyer there is a 50% chance the police are notified and the ‘handshake’ countdown lasts for 1-2 mins before complete (Similar to how crafting currently works on the server). The buyer for level 2 deals can request a combination of indica, stativa, cut coke and crack at any amount between 50-200. For example a single deal could be:

  • 75 indica
  • 150 sativa
  • 100 cut coke
Failure to complete the deal results in players losing reputation. Chance that the buyer rips you off and gives you less than expected.

Level 3

Similar to level 2 with the ability to now request medium deals. 50% chance that your contact notifies the police about the deal. Once you initiate the deal 80% chance the police are notified. The buyer for level 3 deals can request a combination of indica, sativa, cut coke and crack at any amount between 150-500. Players are paid in wads of cash and a chance to receive a crate of ‘stolen goods’. This can be opened with a crowbar and can contain materials for making the drugs needed for level 4 deals: fentanyl, codeine, chloroform, ketamine etc.

Level 4

Highest reputation level. Ability to call in large deals. This system should be similar to shop robberies bank jobs etc and can only be called in if ‘security isn’t too high’. The buyer for lever 4 deals requests large quantities of coke, crack, heroin, lsd, exctacy and meth at any amount between 500-1000. For example a single large deal could be:

  • 250 crack
  • 500 meth
  • 200 heroin
  • 650 coke
50% chance your contact notifies the police about the deal

I believe even though this idea would require a lot of dev work it also offers a lot of opportunities for good quality RP scenarios. Deals would feel like mini scenes from a film and players can have the experience of role playing together whilst also making money at the same time instead of this having to be two separate activities. With the addition of the ‘stolen goods’ crate loads of the various and interesting locations for drug manufacturing would open up and there would be a strong incentive for players to start using these cool places. Solo or players in small groups would have an opportunity to get hold of valuable goods to sell to gangs and large groups creating more RP options. Police could have a whole drugs squad focussed on cracking down on the big deals going down in the city at peak hours. If you were tipped off about a mid level drug deal going down do you arrest the crim straight away or gather some intel and wait for a bigger bust?!

Anyways just some ideas please have a watch of the video below as an example of how a small / mid drug deal could work and yes I have a lot of time on my hands.
