Cops killing people with no warning/attempt to subdue?

I do get what you are saying CAM, and i believe you.

BUT:

Your argument essentially works the other way around aswell:

I often times get stopped, restrained and searched even when i dont have a bounty on me. Countless times i was stopped for say speeding (like 20km/h or sth above the limit) and you guys search me and my car. To be fair, i managed to roleplay my way out of it many times aswell. 

But i dont see how waiting for the cops to get into com range to initiate rp while they are getting into position is in any way fair to us criminals. (im refering to this very case here).

I just want to find out how i can handle this in the future so im not fucking over the police, while also maintaing a fair chance to  defend myself.

After searching the forums i basically found "texting the police you will be shot" as the only answer. And even this is (understandably) considered poor RP. Should I have one unarmed guy with me at all times whose only purpose it is to walk up to the cops and act as kind of a mediator? I really have no idea.

Again: Not complaining here, just looking for guidance.

Honestly the whole mediator type thing would go so far with us, what a lot of rebels don't get is that we WANT TO RP, if I wanted to get into firefight after firefight I'd just join a wasteland server. But as it goes there are some Cops and rebels who do just want to gunfight and in an RP server that frustrates me to no end.

The police should have used rubber bullets. However if you all put your guns on your back they wouldn't have seen you as a threat. If what you say is true that you would have preferred to get arrested and role played you should have dropped your gun and put your hands up rather than running around looking suspicious. Then they would have arrested you rather than for their own safety, putting you down. 

Simple as.

Well yes yes everyone's saying "should've used rubber bullets bla bla bla" but we're basically forgetting the fact that they were engaged by the police without RP (Atleast from what I can see) and that there should be done something about this.

I personally dont care about them using rubber bullets tbh. 

The way i see it, the outcome would have been the same: getting downed, losing all my gear (bc you only keep your backpack when you go to jail as far as i know) getting my vehicle scrapped.

My questions are more regarding a scenario where you actually want to fight (which doesent mean i dont want to RP, but sometimes you want to shoot people)

I dont know if im on the wrong track here, but the fact that police has non-lethal weapons gives them a big advantage regarding the whole situation. 

They can essentially take you down without engaging in RP and RDMing you (since they dont kill you), and are within their rights to do so since they have reasonable cause when they see 4 tempest hanging around at the processor.

While at the same time, you as a rebel, are not allowed to do shit before you basically say "hey listen guys, can you come close real quick? we wanted to tell you we are about to shoot you now".

Basically im a bit puzzled as to how engage in RP without getting myself restrained and losing. 

Anyways, this is beginning to move in a bit of a general discussion and not really related the the very situation in this topic, i dont want to hijack this thread for my own purposes but would still appreciate some advice.

Like I said they shot you to protect themselves in case you engaged. it could have been avoided if you just put your weapons down. What you guys don't understand is if they came up to you and told you to surrender most people would shoot the cops on sight. bare that in mind.

In my opinion if the police come in with sirens whirring and shit whilst you're at the processor I would consider that RP engaged, they know what you're doing, you know what you're doing, you either want to surrender and try and talk it out, run away, or stand and fight. EDIT: Your stance in that video is easily perceived as "stand and fight"

If I was a cop which I was up until a week ago and I drove in on a processor (which I've done many times) after observing you guys in it with the intention of arresting / detaining you, I would be expecting you to be shooting at me on the way in.

I would treat it like a stop and search on a vehicle, if I'm clearly trying to pull your vehicle over with sirens and horns it is in my opinion role play engaged, its courteous to jump out and give me a warning or threat before you shoot me, but I don't expect it.

Again, that's my opinion and maybe its not shared by others but there you go.
