Cops killing people with no warning/attempt to subdue?

A friend and I were at the cocaine processing plant and a cop hunter and pickup showed up.

We had vermins, but neither of us fired a single bullet. I had 0 bounty. We were both killed by long range weapons and our vehicles were scrapped.

No attempt to arrest us at all, no rubber bullets.

I'm not 100% sure on the rules here, but I have been caught with a rifle before by police and each time they will attempt to talk to me first and subdue me, then ticket me for the illegal weapon and remove it.

I do have it recorded, but I'm not sure on what proper police procedure is so I'm not sure it matters at all. I just know that previous encounters with police have been much better, with an attempt to subdue before switching to lethal.

Can you provide any kind of evidence? If so, post it here or in the Police Complaint Commision.

The only scenario I can come up with is why they shot you was because you where a threat. That's one of the main protocols of the police, if a life of a civilian is in danger or theirs they have the right to open fire, maybe they wher ambushing you and mistook one of your friends a civilian and they sniped you? Otherwise just put the video up and a senior police will answer your question.

If what you say is true, I would be interested in the recording.

Not sure if a language warning is needed, but uh... language warning!

Not sure if it's worth a complaint or not. I'd put it into 'iffy' - I did scope in at the rear of the hunter at one point, and then fled. I was shot in the back as I got stuck on a rock. I would have much preferred to been arrested and RP'd it, even if the outcome was essentially the same (vehicle scrapped, lost weapon, etc).

Well,

To be honest, it seems unfair to you. At least the rubber bullet should have been used in such situation, then it would occur more opportunity to roleplay thro situation.

Whilst perhaps rubber bullets should have been used in this situation, you are running around with an illegal firearm in a live fire situation where shots have already been fired, you were clearly going to engage the officers had you the opportunity, however I do agree strictly speaking there was a lack of compliance aimed at you directly.

This.

See a rebel do that? RDM.

Try reporting one of them, see how that works. It's always fun to see the one of the officers not involved come to the report a PLAYER section to complain how you checked his name (no shit, hard to make a complaint without "players name you're reporting") and try to find everything wrong in YOUR game play to get you banned instead. (even when the police gets kicked out from the report cause they never get banned for breaking rules). If you went to a player report and wrote something like they do every day you'll end up with warning points like I do - they don't get warning points.

All I'm gonna say.

Rubber bullets probably should have been used, although in future I would suggest putting your weapons in your backpack, and placing your hands on your head to show the officers you are surrendering as to me it looks like you are trying to engage with them, which is clearly what the officers were thinking too.

-Vixxy ;)

THIS HAS GONE ON FOR LONG ENOUGH AND TODAY THEY SHOT AN UNARMED HOBO IN KAVALA AT THE HORROR OF THE ONLOOKING LOCALS!

TONIGHT WE WILL RISE UP AS ONE AND PUT AN END TO THIS POLICE OPPRESSION!!!

FUCK DA POLICE

Im actually a bit confused on this matter aswell.

I was on the scene in a third vehicle but managed to escape.

Seing as im new to the server/the game im not too sure about the rules (or the interpretation to be more clear):

Since we are not supposedto initiate a gunfight without RP, how should we defend ourself in this situation.

I understand this rule is in place to prevent people just going ham on the police and having gunfights everywhere.

But what is the point then for us to carry rifles, we might aswell just head there in hobo clothes and a backpack.

If we had put down the gun and RPD (which we didnt even have a chance to do)  we would have gotten tazed/subdued/ restrained (bc thats basically what the Police does immideatly, even when just stopping you for a random check, im refering to the restraining part here.)

If we had shot at the officers here, would it have been considered RDM?

Just to be clear:

I dont want to complain about this, nor am i asking for compensation but i just want to know how to handle this in the future.

From my POV, if I see cops arriving at the processing and im sure they are here for me. Should I not be able to shoot them, since they will use force to stop me aswell? (albeit non lethal, but that really doesnt change anything for me since i lose all my gear anyways)

I really need some help on this as I feel this rule, allthough being a nececarry one, heavily favors the police and gives them a big advantage. Especially because those tazers just "instagib" you.

EDIT: Would it be acceptable, for example, to fire a couple of warning shots? I dont really see any save way to initiate RP here, how far can the direct coms be heard from anyway (espcecially with a hunter and a couple of temptest around making noise)

Too true lol.

Instead of going on the cops every time they make the smallest mistake, like this one, maybe have a little more thought of the cops you have no clue how much we get RDMed, it is aboslutely insane, it takes some not to just blow peoples heads off at times. im currently composing a video of the last couple of days from my patrol to show how complicated it sometimes is.

Yeah, but say a police car rolls through a main road while your in a firefight with the polce, he/she has had no comms and is just patrolling, would you think twice about unloading on him? I honestly think not. (In no way am I saying that what happened here was right but your point is extremely wrong)

I do get what you are saying CAM, and i believe you.

BUT:

Your argument essentially works the other way around aswell:

I often times get stopped, restrained and searched even when i dont have a bounty on me. Countless times i was stopped for say speeding (like 20km/h or sth above the limit) and you guys search me and my car. To be fair, i managed to roleplay my way out of it many times aswell.

But i dont see how waiting for the cops to get into com range to initiate rp while they are getting into position is in any way fair to us criminals. (im refering to this very case here).

I just want to find out how i can handle this in the future so im not fucking over the police, while also maintaing a fair chance to  defend myself.

After searching the forums i basically found "texting the police you will be shot" as the only answer. And even this is (understandably) considered poor RP. Should I have one unarmed guy with me at all times whose only purpose it is to walk up to the cops and act as kind of a mediator? I really have no idea.

Again: Not complaining here, just looking for guidance.
