Brief Summary: Introduce the ability to cook at home, leveling up your cooking skill to make food.
Detailed Suggestion: Currently the only ways to get food is vending machine, shops and restaurants. Also only restaurant owners are able to order in supplies to make food and sell. I suggest that we provide the chance for the public to cook food if they own a house. From my knowledge we do have a cooking skill in the game but as of now it seems only the restaurant owners can level it up because only they have access to the supplies.
How about we make it so shops can order in the ingredients and sell it. Players buy the ingredients and use them to cook at home. Using the leveling system, we can make it so at level 0 people can only cook eggs/ toast/ baked beans. As they level up, they unlock more cooking options and the food fills up more of your hunger bar. For example maybe at max level you have the ability to cook Full English. It could also provide more RP opportunities to become a chef and work at a restaurant.
There might be balancing issues in the long run cause since people can make their own food, they will sell the food themselves meaning less profit for shops and restaurant owners. Depends on what the devs and players think, we could make it so only certain food can be cooked at home. For example you can only cook Full English at restaurants, then this way people have to go through the process of either being a cook at the restaurant/ buy them to get specific food. But at the end of the day, I feel like this suggestion would actually provide more RP opportunities for everyone.
The Pros: -More RP opportunities (eg. being a chef, work at restaurant, sell your own food at the streets/tweedle)
- People would be able to put the cooking skill to good use
-A reason for shop owners to sell groceries/ ingredients to the public
The Cons: -Shop/ restaurants might make less profit from food items since people can make their own.
Does this suggestion change balance on the server ? Depending on what kind of meta evolves from this idea, yes it might change the balance. But I feel like it would be a more positive change rather than a negative one.
