I want an orange name, but only to deal with technical stuff. Maybe some kind of magnificent magenta..

My house is passively cooled, Not unlike my last apartment that had a Fucking howling gale through it with 20" gaps on each window !!!!

I really need to earn more money so I can build (actually afford to run) a peltier cooling rig, Used to have a Freon system, but meh so noisy !!!

See if you can find a rare VapoChill case - they were peltier cooler ATX cases!! I remember when they came out and fucking hell they were expensive.

Or you could go the Cray route and go for Flourinet immersion. Maybe something less CFC-ey though. Ozone and all that.

Thanks for moving it.

Just looked at the Vapo case :O wouldn't that sound like a jet engine tho or is it quite?

Make sure your cooler if you arent changing it has the correct socket plates for an intel 1150/1151 socket. If it doesnt, a 212 Evo is a very quiet, very efficient air cooler.

It'd be just like your home fridge. You'd get a hum off it, and a bit of noise when the compressor kicked it, but probably not much else except maybe noise from the fan to cool the exchanger.

Top Tip: Your fridge is always cooler at the back than the door, so never keep your milk/cheeses in the door. It'll last longer at the back. This is because the back is a massive cooler plate.

Wow never knew that fed up of throwing milk out becuase it's only lasting 2-3 days,
and yea came with a AMD and Intel backplate will upgrade to custom cooling soon tho, want to wall mount my rig,

With wall mounting, be aware if the room isnt spotlessly clean and the system is exposed - it will statically attract dust, dirt, dead skin. IF you're gonig to wall mount it, think about still sealing it in a perspex box, with cooling of course. More dirt -> Higher Temp -> Shorter Lifespan.

With regards to milk, have you ever tried UHT milk? You dont even have to keep it in the fridge until you open it. Ultra Heat Treat and hermetically sealed. LAsts about 6 months in the cupboard. Just put it in the fridge before you want to use it (if you want it cold) and then consume in about 4-7 days. Obviously keep it in the fridge once opened.

And it doesnt taste any weirder than 'normal' milk. You know, the one full of bacteria. That you drink. Daily.

BUGS IN YOUR MILK.

Can't say I have any personal experience of either of those coolers - you'll have to read a few reviews yourself and see what you think.

I have a Corsair H80iGT All-in-one myself, and as cool as it looks, it doesnt actually run any cooler than a good quality air-cooler. It's actually louder.

If I can recommend an air cooler to you it would be:

BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro

Noctua DH15

Coolermaster 212 Evo.

the 212 is cheapest and while again i havent used it - it's known to be a stellar A* cooler.

The Dark Rock pro is what i used to have (you can see it in my showcase thread) and it a big heavy block of black nickel-plated copper. It's silent as the grave. CPU overclocked (2700k i7 @ 4.5GHz) ran at about 40C.

The Noctua DH15 is what i put in my old housemates 4790k based computer. It's silent too, very very efficient at cooling, but it is fucking massive, as is the Dark Rock. So check your case has adequete CPU clearance before you buy one.

If you wanted to do a customer water cooling loop - just take it slowly and carefully. It's not something I have done before, but in this day and age the kits are mostly click-together type jobs. just test it for leaks before you put your new several hundred pound computer near it.
