Common sense

Reformed PLAYER

BOYYYYYKKKKKKAAAAA
Alright here goes another awful post by myself

it has come to my intention that many civilians are being caught up in gun fights a example of this. Is they see a dead officer and they run to pick up the gun and get them selfs caught up in the mess

I was just looking at ICE's thing and what a phew people have told me reason why I'm bringing it up

in real life circumstances if a gun fight erupted your first action would be to run away therefor aren't the ones running in to pick up weps etc breaking the common sense rule

basically summing it all up its ridiculous to see unarmed "hobos" running in to fights knowing there "safe" because there unarmed especially as soon as they pick up the gun they become a threat I see it all,the time now it's COMMON SENSE just to run away to avoid any hassle

if any one can expand on what I've said or something I'm awful at posts and eager to watch another Vikings ep cheers

People have gotten into the mentality of 'I can do what I want because if anything happens I'm going to get them banned because the need for RP will protect me'. The fact that people are required to initiate on you in a lot of situations before shooting isn't a very good defense when it comes to you trying to be rid of them from the server and it shouldn't be used.

If you're going to run into an active gunfight or into an area which has clearly had weapons being fired (The corpses usually give it away, hard to miss sometimes I know) swinging your dick around laughing like a numpty, grabbing things off bodies(sacks) and thinking 'Hurr hurr can't do anything to me, I'm protected by your bullets because of your lack of words' then you've got a damn good chance of leaving it in a body bag or your dick shot off.

Common sense goes out of the window when people see an opportunity to make the smallest bit of profit in a ROLEPLAY heavy community and once they see those dollar signs Roleplay goes out of the window very shortly after. In some situations common sense lands safely but a lot of the time it leaves a terrible mess on the pavement and gets forgotten about by the person throwing it out.

I propose a "1F) Don't be a dick" rule or adding an extra line to the exploting and glitching rule as it's a way of trying to get around the system and it has been taken advantage of far too often already, admittedly the reports usually get refused and thrown away but the attempted are never going to stop.

Sometimes, depending on your roleplay character you won't be so scared of gunfights, for example as a civ I roleplay an AEGIS director. Being in a PMC means that I'm experienced in combat and being so high up, I'm more or less a veteran of combat scenarios. To me, this means I'm not going to be so scared in combat so I will if I deem necessary approach the situation because of the nature of my character ( I'm kind, hence why I work for free protecting civilians. If approach to see if I can help the innocent). This doesn't mean I'll run about like a headless chicken and pick up guns but I hope it demonstrates that some people would have the roleplay character to move into a gunfight :)

In most cases it is entirely common sense not to run into the fight unarmed with no combat armour to pick up a firearm. To be honest, you shouldn't get into too much trouble for killing the person because it's a stupid thing to do.

Good points made but I would add that if your character is a veteran of combat scenarios and doesn't mind entering, they would have to roleplay properly who they were and what they were doing or else they run the risk of collateral damage (armed guy running about in active gunfight is probably going to get shot at in a split second decision.) While i'm sure that you personally do this, many unarmed people simply don't say a word, see a nice MX on a dead officer and try and grab it. Then when they get shot with lethals because the officers didn't get time to change weapons when they saw a guy with a RIFLE running around in active combat, they feel the need to try and report the officers.

I think making the rules more clearly against this kind of play would be a step in the right direction.

@GP TomTheDoge I almost always make the surrounding civilians/rebels/police aware of my presence and only ever get a firearm out of 100% necessary. Most people know that aegis is there to help anyhow so I'm mostly safe ;)

hobos and common sense should never be used in the same sentence, however I agree running into a gun fight just to pick up a weapon is plain stupid , although I'm pretty sure 90% of the community would not do this ,the people who do are mostly trolls who are just gonna pick up the gun and kill anything that moves until their dead or banned
