I know it doesn't belong in the fridge. There is a word for it when it turns white inside the packet, kinda like a bread going mouldy, but not harmful at all. I forget what the word is though but it's apparently not good for the chocolate.
I still put mine in the fridge. I think its the snack mentality of going to the fridge to see what's in it and grabbing chocolate and being like yeah now all I need is to put the kettle on.
