Checking if a house is owned

I know it is not a big thing at all, but, as you can only own one house, I wish we could be able to check if another house is owned before selling actual houses. This would spare a lot of time as I spent a decent amount of time furnishing my house and on top of that I would also lose half of the money spent on the house when selling it.

If you walk up to the door of the house if it’s owned you will be able to knock on the door if you can’t then it’s not owned.
