Changing How Professions Work + New Additions

So the idea I have would give the players a choice that matters. - What do I mean by this?

A choice when it comes to their characters development. Giving them that choice of  "Do I focus on a life of crime or do I pick civilian life?" And limiting people to only being good at 3. And REALLY bad at the rest. Which then in turn will make people interact with more people. Create more businesses, which then creates more role play.

I know this is not a fix to the current state of the server. But its a good leap forward to address one of the factors that people keep mentioning. They are bored and things are getting stale.

Miner Profession  

  • You can not be a Smelter or Chopping Cars for balance
  • With mining you will be able to get bigger yields as you get better.
  • Unlock better ore at higher levels.

Smelter Profession

  • Can not be a Miner/ Chop Cars for balance
  • Unlocks better ingots
  • Faster Smelting times
  • Can smelt down "Scrap Metal" from Chopping cars

Driving Profession

  • Taxi, food delivery, deliveries for businesses ( shop orders / gas).
  • Cash only rewards so it promotes robbing people.
  • Better pay checks for the higher level.

Mechanics

  • Repairing car.
  • Towing.
  • Illegal car parts - working with Chopping Cars. If for example AE gets caught using illegal parts = bad times with police.

Oil Profession

  • Gathering Oil from the Oil Fields.
  • Producing petrol/diesel.
  • Plastic sheets
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]Higher yields at higher levels.[/SIZE]

Cooking

  • Making Food / Drinks for businesses. 
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]Use less ingredients.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]If no one cooks, No food on the server.[/SIZE]



Farming

  • Growing Fruit / Collection.
  • Cutting Wood.
  • Works well with growing drugs for faster grow time.
  • Better Yields at higher levels.
     

Fishing

  • Unlocks better fish.
  • Illegal fishing.
  • Better rewards for selling or % chance at a  trophy fish that are valued higher.

Hunting Profession 

  • For park rangers/ hunters
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]Having Ruined, Damaged, Normal and Perfect Hides all with their own values.[/SIZE]
  • Better chance quality hides / amount of meat for cooking.

Drug Selling

  • Ability to sell more at once the higher you get.
  • Don’t alert police as much.
  • Cannot be a drug procedure for balance

Drugs Production

  • Growing Weed, Mushrooms.
  • Production of Meth/ Coke / Heroin.
  • Works well with Farming if you choose that for faster grow time.
  • Higher yields.
  • Can not be a Drug seller of drugs to npc’s for balance.



Crafting

  • Production of Guns, Bullets, Melee weapons, Body armour & Plastic bags.
  • Uses less materials the better you are.
  • Faster craft times.
  • Can not mine or smelt for balance.

Chopping Cars

  • Gives scrap metal for smelters / plastics for recycling at a recycling centre to get other items.
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]Does not pay in cash for balance.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]Illegal car parts for Mechanics.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]Cannot be a Miner / Smelter for balance.[/SIZE]



First aid  NHS ONLY 

  • It's for the NHS.
  • Everyone else cannot just keep healing when it comes to being hurt with bandages.
  • You cut yourself? You can put a bandages on it, But it won’t stop bleeding until you go to A & E.
  • If you are shot, you have to go to the hospital, bandages won’t stop the bleeding and you bleed out quicker.
  • Give the NHS more things to do + give them extra role play.



This last one will upset so many people but hear me out. At this current rate, the server is turning more and more into a Gang warfare server. This would make people value their lives more. Because you cannot just keep shooting, getting shot, Heal up like a super hero and keep fighting. It would bring balance to the server with fearing death. = Better Role Play 🙂

I understand this would be a giant rework of the server requiring a mass overhaul with development time. But the end product will increase a characters development and have people work together more.

Brilliant suggestion.

I'd love more in-depth injuries/medical problems as punishment for being shot/stabbed/whatever - makes no sense that you can go through hell and back and one single bandage sorts everything out. Makes the NHS <mechanically> useful and people are wary about the medical repercussions of their actions.

would prefer it if it stops the bleeding, but doesn't heal you completely, maybe only like 50/75%?

Medics are sadly still really undermanned compared to the amount of people on the server, if NHS had to be at pillbox 80% of the time due to people being shot often there would be more people reeing about not getting help after they died than anything

a work around could be, you "book a time" at the front desk, a AI(kinda like the garage thing we have atm) appears and takes you to a room and then heals you, this will take a while(10 minutes maybe) and then you're done and free to go, medics will be faster ofc. depending on the medic.

above can also just bethat you have to be somewhere/need to sit down and it'll start. anyways +1

It would still have that effect where you can check in. It would stop the constant healing during gun fights.

 
I think enforced specialisation is bad for the server. This will force people to be too rigid in choices and therefore I disagree with it. 

I think people should be allowed freedom of choice to allow their own character to grow and develop organically rather than be restricted by preconditions. 

I think this idea, while good in theory, would be detrimental to the player base for the long term. 

I voted against it for these reasons.

 
I think it's a very well put together suggestion and you have a +1 from me.

I agree with the bandages as well and the whole NHS suggestion, but i think NHS would have to get a lot of work done in terms of staffing because there's a lot of days when there are loads of people on the server during nigh time and NHS are nowhere to be found, and if you had to get checked by NHS to get a stab wound sorted out, people will end up dying because there's no NHS about. Imagine getting stabbed by a random hobo middle of the night for no reason and you end up losing your stuff because your screen recording software acted up and you didn't get footage for getting your lost items back that you lost because there was no NHS about at time.
This would be the only thing i could point out.


It will take RP on the server to the next level. so +1 for that

 
yea more jobs would be a plus to the city ive tried them all apart from the whitelisted ones ie police and nhs and g6 and parkrangers

 
I think for the first aid section instead of it being NHS, I think bandages shouldn't heal you fully and you would need to use 2/3 to get fully healed up yourself. Doing this would stop people from quickly healing up and rushing into whatever RP they were doing before. It would also allow people to RP their injures out for longer.

 
I don't mind most of the changes the only one i can't really agree on is the NHS one simply because i see the NHS mostly under staffed and with Low numbers and always occupied with more important dispatches, considering the healing on the bandages would be reduce this would mean that probably more people would be injured more frequently and again NHS won't be able to respond to any of them and to be honest i doubt the hospitals will be able to hold those people aswell and i am not saying this because of the fact that people keep shooting and thats how it should go its just in those cases where you get run over or crashed into by the dumbest stuff or tackle someone and it will just drain basically all of your health out with this change.

I agree with you. Doesn't necessary need to be a medic that treats you. I think, more the fact that you do need to go to hospital after such a situation 🙂
