Having been a part of G6 some for time now, one theme I often notice other members of the faction comment on is having inmates in prison for longer times and giving us proper reason to go and RP with the inmates.
Recently the Lost have had been placed on remand and we have had more opportunity to provide RP in the form of general conversation and banter, dealing with them trying to break out of them lockpicking certain doors to access the external courtyard and cause nuisance. All of which is good to see and the last few days have certainly been interesting and fun!
Having not had the opportunity to deal with a mass break out or riot in the past myself, in the last few days I have noticed one massive disadvantage immersion breaking issue we have at controlling such a situation - We have no way to safely release inmates back on to the yard once we have them detained and searched!
Last night, after an hour long riot where Lost, Police and G6 were at each other. We finally thought we had the situation contained with the Lost in separate cells in one of the prison Cell blocks. The next issue was, how do we get them all of our here without it kicking off again.
With the changes to the lockdown system, we tried to initiate a lockdown, leave the cell block, and release the lockdown; in hopes that the cell doors would be unlocked, the lost could leave and we were already safely out of the courtyard. Unfortunately, it seems lifting the lockdown puts the doors back to the state they were in when the lockdown initiated.
My suggestion (Thanks for reading this far!) is to add a "cell release" button somewhere in the prison, preferably the new Central Watchtower, that will allow us to safely release the cell locks from outside the courtyard.
In theory, adding one for each cell block would be good but I think for the purpose of what is required, 1 button to lock/unlock all of the cells in each of the 3 (4 if you include the Seg yard) would be more than sufficient.
Pros - Makes sense in RP that cells can be release from a safe distance.
Cons - Dev Work
